Five individuals are currently hospitalized following an incident where a private jet slid off a runway and plunged into a river, coming to a stop 100 feet away.
The minor plane deviated from the designated path at Southwest Oregon Regional Airport located in North Bend, Oregon, during the early hours of Monday.
As per airport officials, the aircraft carrying five passengers veered off Runway 23 and landed in Coos Bay shortly after 6 a.m.
The four passengers and one crew member were all rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital.
Officials say their conditions are unknown.
All commercial air traffic on the airport’s main runway has been suspended whilst the investigation into the crash continues.
The National Transportation Safety Board has asked for the plane to be removed from the water, according to officials.
Monday’s river crash is the latest in a string of air accidents across the US.
The most devastating was a mid-air collision between an American Airlines passenger plane and a military helicopter.
All 67 on board the two vehicles died after the wreckage crashed down into the Potomac river.

And on March 29, everyone on board a small plane died when it crashed into a house in Minnesota, engulfing the home on flames.
The plane came down in Brooklyn Park, near Minneapolis.
