Tina Turner’s Daughter-in-Law Plans to Become Mom of Baby from Husband Who Just Died

Tina Turner is known as one of the most excellent musicians ever. She amassed fans worldwide with hits like “Simply The Best” and “What’s Love Got To Do With It?” She also raised a family.

Tina had four children, all of them boys. Two of the boys are her biological children, and two are adopted. She raised the boys close to her but shared strained relationships with them. She was devastated when her son, Ronnie, passed away six months before her death.

Ronnie was 62 when he passed away, and Tina took to Instagram to share how she felt about losing her son. She lamented:

“Ronnie, you left the world far too early. In sorrow, I close my eyes and think of you, my beloved son.”

The caption was accompanied by a black and white photo of Tina with her eyes closed and a serene expression. Fans flooded the comments with words of love, support, and condolences to the singer.

Ronnie’s cause of death was unknown when he died, but he suffered many health issues in the years leading up to his death, including cancer. On Instagram, Ronnie’s widow, Afida, also shared a tribute to her late husband.

Afida said that she could not save her husband and was mad that he had passed away. She called his death a “tragedy” and said he was in heaven with his father and brother, who died in 2018 at 58. The pair did not have any children together.

Six months later, tragedy again struck the family when Tina died. Tina died on May 24, 2023, at 83, in her home in Küsnacht, Switzerland. Her cause of death was revealed to be natural causes by her rep.

Tina’s rep said that the songstress had been suffering a long illness but was reluctant to reveal exactly what that long illness was. However, two months before she died, Tina admitted she was suffering from kidney disease, which was incredibly dangerous.

Now, months after Tina’s death, her family is set to welcome a new addition. Afida has announced that she will expand her family, despite her husband not seeing it.

After her husband and his mother died within half a year of each other, Afida admitted to feeling depressed. She said although fans could turn to their music or pictures to feel close to Tina and Ronnie, she went home to an empty house and screamed the names of her loved ones.

While she confessed that she had dark thoughts following the deaths of Tina and Ronnie, she speaks to God to help her get through the more difficult days in her life. Now, she says another thing keeping her going is the thought of becoming a mother. She shared:

“I’m going to have Ronnie’s baby!”

Talking about how she would welcome her husband’s child after he had passed away, Afida gushed: “Ronnie left me a very nice gift.” The gift is Ronnie’s frozen sperm and Afida’s frozen egg, which Ronnie gave her for her birthday last year.

Although Afida knows it will be challenging for her to fall pregnant at 46, she is willing to try so that she can honor her husband’s memory. Apparently, Ronnie was ready to become a father last November before he passed away.

Ronnie and Afida lived a “beautiful” life together in Encino for the past fifteen years, but Afida found it too painful to remain in Los Angeles after she lost her husband and called it a “nightmare.” She said she left with nothing but her memories and her late husband’s clothes.

Afida believes she helped save Ronnie as they were similar people who felt like orphans with broken souls. She confirmed she did everything for him until the very end of his life.

Now, she encourages others to embrace every moment with their loved ones because you never know when the last time you might see someone is. She also admitted that nothing could remove the pain of losing loved ones.

Afida is now living for traveling, making music, and the baby she hopes to welcome at some point this year. However, she knows she will never find another man like her late husband because he is a significant character and what she considers “perfect.”

While Afida plans to welcome a baby despite her husband not being there to see it, it will not be the first Turner grandchild. In fact, Tina welcomed other grandchildren when she was alive, although she never saw them.

While Tina loved her three boys, in 1986, she revealed that she had become estranged from her sons except for Craig. Three years later, she cut her children off financially, saying:

“I’m still there for the boys, but I’m not going to let them use me.”

This led to Tina and her sons’ relationship becoming even more strained, with Tina never having met some of her two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren before she passed away earlier this year.

Tina’s son, Ronnie, welcomed two children named Raquel and Randy, who she rarely interacted with. This led to Tina never meeting Raquel’s children, Tyson and Tyrese. Tina’s son, Michael, welcomed a daughter named Tiffany.

Tiffany then welcomed three children named Marli, Amari, and Gianni. However, Tina did not share a relationship with any of these children of her grandchild. While none of the children ever met Tina, they all share her musical talent.
