Melissa George remained conspicuously silent following the death of her former Home And Away co-star Dieter Brummer last week.
And while the 44-year-old has still failed to share her condolences online, she did resurface on Instagram over the weekend to share a rather ill-timed meme about death.
Posting to Instagram Stories on Sunday, Melissa uploaded a photo of a whiteboard displaying the message: ‘Every dead body on Mt. Everst [sic] was once a highly motivated person. So… maybe calm down.’

What do you meme? Melissa George, 44, shared a bizarre meme about death on Sunday – as she continued to maintain her silence on Home and Away star Dieter Brummer’s suicide
The meaning of the post remains up for debate, but one possible interpretation is that it is a warning to people who pursue difficult challenges without taking the risks into consideration.
Australia-born Melissa, who currently resides Paris, meanwhile raised eyebrows among fans after she chose not to share a public tribute to Brummer via social media following his death last week.
George has also not responded to requests for comment by Daily Mail Australia about her late co-star’s passing.

Brummer is best known for playing Shane Parris in Home And Away, and was famously involved in a romantic storyline with George in the nineties.
George played his on-screen wife Angel Brooks, but their relationship behind the scenes was anything but idyllic.
The former teen heartthrob, who was found dead at a home in Sydney’s Glenhaven on July 24, had spoken openly about their disdain for each other.
Speaking to Woman’s Day magazine in November 2019, Brummer admitted he never got along along with George in real-life.
‘We may have been love interests on the show but the chemistry was far from real!’ he said at the time.

‘She was a big fan and she aspired to be a big star just like Kylie. I don’t think she had much time for the cast of Home and Away.’
Brummer said he hadn’t spoken to George since he left the soap, after begging the show’s producers to kill him off.
He told news.com.au in July 2018 that his real-life relationship with George wasn’t what fans envisioned.
‘There was a lot of pressure on us. We had to look like the perfect darling couple in public,’ he admitted.
He added: ‘It wasn’t like anything off screen. It was all on screen.’
