Year 10, the directorial feature debut of Brit filmmaker Ben Goodger, has wrapped production and is now set to make its market debut at the AFM, where Archstone Entertainment will be handling sales after having acquired worldwide rights.
The apocalyptic adventure is set 10 years after the fall of civilization, with the environment having become hostile and dangerous and cannibalism the only option for humanity’s dwindling survivors. When a violent tribe murders his father and steals the medicine keeping his girlfriend alive, Jake must embark on a treacherous journey battling the elements, packs of vicious wild dogs and the cannibal group or else lose the only thing he has left.
Year 10 comes from U.K. production outfit BK Studios and is produced by the late Bill Kenwright (Cheri, Another Mother’s Son) and executive produced by David Gilbery (The Lost Daughter) and Naomi George (My Pure Land). Scott Martin, Michael Slifkin and Jack Sheehan are also executive producers on behalf of Archstone. The sales deal was signed by Archstone principal Sheehan with BK Studios CEO Gilbery.
“Ben Goodger is an exciting new filmmaker, and we are thrilled to work with him on his first feature. Year 10 is a haunting and gritty adventure that captivates its audience and keeps them on the edge of their seat. We can’t wait to showcase it at AFM,” said Archstone’s Martin.
Gilbery added, “Finding and nurturing new voices is a key part of what we do at BK Studios. Ben had such a clear vision for delivering a different kind of dystopian thriller that really pushes the envelope creatively. I hope audiences will really enjoy this unique thrill ride.”
Archstone also acquired the pre-sale title The December Cross with Kellan Lutz, Jennifer Esposito, Judd Hirsch, Neal McDonough and Dermot Mulroney, along with The Stoic starring Jason Flemyng and horror-thriller The Deep Web: Murdershow.

BK Studios is a London based production outfit headed up by producer and financier Gilbery. Other upcoming projects include period thriller The Critic starring Ian McKellen and Gemma Arterton, psychological thriller My Sister’s Bones starring Olga Kurylenko, The Shepherd starring John Travolta and Long Day’s Journey Into Night starring Ed Harris and Jessica Lange.
