Model Winnie Harlow and NBA player Kyle Kuzma shared their engagement news on Tuesday through Instagram and an interview with Vogue. Their joyous announcement touched the hearts of their fans and celebrity acquaintances.
Kuzma, a 29-year-old forward for the Milwaukee Bucks, popped the question to the 30-year-old Harlow on February 13 during a romantic getaway to the Turks and Caicos Islands. Kuzma had planned a surprise proposal, decorating the private flight with roses, balloons, chocolates, and Champagne to create a memorable atmosphere for the special moment. Harlow initially thought it was an extravagant Valentine’s Day surprise.
During the proposal, Kuzma read a heartfelt poem he had written, culminating in the question: “Will you be my wife?” Harlow, overwhelmed with emotion, admitted to saying yes even before Kuzma unveiled the engagement ring.
The engagement ring, described by Vogue as an “8.5-carat oval-cut ring with two baguette stones on the sides,” was designed by Kuzma himself. He told the magazine,
“I wanted to create something that embodied her essence—something elegant, yet timeless and simple.”
Upon their arrival, Kuzma had another surprise waiting for Harlow: their families and friends were gathered at a private villa, ready to celebrate their engagement together. The evening ended with a breathtaking fireworks display, adding an extra touch of magic to their celebration.
