Who is Margarita Magaña?

Mexican actress Margarita Magaña was born under the zodiac sign Leo on 25 July 1979, in Mexico City. She has 29 acting credits and is perhaps still known best for playing Estrela Falcon in 13 episodes of the 2009 romantic comedy series “Un Gancho al Corazon”, which starred Raul Araiza, Sebastian Rulli and Danna Garcia, and aired its 219 episodes in 2008 and 2009. The series follows a poor orphan who’s just become a boxing champion, and has fallen in love with a wealthy and handsome businessman.

Margarita’s today highly active in the film industry, and is currently shooting for the upcoming series “Tu Vida es mi Vida”, set to be released in 2024.

Education and early life

Margarita was raised in Mexico City by her mother and father who prefer to be left out of media, which is why Margarita can rarely be heard talking about them; it’s widely believed that they are both involved in the entertainment industry but this is yet to be addressed by Margarita. As she’s yet to mention whether or not she has siblings, most of her fans believe that she’s an only child.

She fell in love with acting while still attending a local elementary school, and was 15 when she made her debut TV series appearance, playing a supporting character in the 1994 family drama “El Club de Gaby”; Margarita then went on to appear in a 1995 episode of the crime thriller series “Bajo un Mismo Rostro”, and she gained recognition in the same year, when cast to play Betty in seven episodes of the romantic series “Humble Maria”. It starred Rebeca Manriquez, Fernando Colunga and Thalia, and follows a poor girl who’s fallen for a wealthy misogynist man.

Margarita went on to attend the acting school Centro de Capacitacion Artistica de Televisa; upon matriculating from high school in 1997, she remained focused on acting and didn’t attend college.

Roles in TV series

In 1997 and 1998, Margarita played Mariana Fabio in all 99 episodes of the romantic drama “Mi Pequena Traviesa”, which starred Michelle Vieth, Hector Soberon and Enrique Rocha, and follows Julia who has to pretend to be a boy to get the job she wants.

In 1998 and 1999, Margarita played Laura Escobar in all 90 episodes of the romantic drama “Camila”, which starred Enrique Lizalde, Eduardo Capetillo and Bibi Gaytan, and follows Miguel who’s married to two women. The remainder of the ‘90s saw her appear in an episode or two of the crime thriller “Mujer, Casos de la Vida Real”, the romantic drama “For Your Love” and another romantic drama “The Beach House”.

In 2001 and 2002, Margarita starred as Fernanda Pacheco in 182 episodes of the romantic sports drama “El Juego de la Vida”, which also starred Valentino Lanus and Sara Maldonado, and follows two youngsters who’ve fallen in love. Some of her other notable performances in the 2000s were in the romantic crime drama “Las Vias del Amor”, the romantic drama “La Verdad Oculta” and another romantic drama “Teresa”.

In 2017 and 2018, Margarita played Julieta in 21 episodes of the drama “Me Declaro Culpable”, which starred Juan Soler, Mayrin Villanueva and Daniela Castro, and follows Alba who’s been accused of euthanizing her terminally ill husband; the series was nominated for a 2018 Premios TVyNovelas Award for Best Telenovela.

Some of Margarita’s most recent TV series roles have been in the 2020 episode “Como Tu Mujer” of the drama “Esta Historia me Suena”, the 2020 episode “Encerrados” of the drama “Decisions: Some Win and Others Lose” and all 47 episodes of the 2020 drama “Vencer el Miedo”.

Roles in movies

Margarita’s spent her career focused on appearing in TV series and has had only a single film role.

She portrayed Rosita in the 1998 drama “La Primera Noche”, which starred Marta Aura, Judith Arciniega and Florencio Almazan, and was directed by Alejandro Gamboa. It follows the lives of several friends aged between 15 and 18, and the movie won one of its two award nominations.

Other credits

Margarita sang the song “Por Tu Amor” in a 2001 episode of the series “El Juego de la Vida”.

Some of her talk-show appearances have been in “La Energia de Sonric’slandia”, “VidaTv” and “Noches con Platanito”.

Love life and husband

Margarita rarely speaks about her love life in public but we know of two men whom she’s been with. She married Mexican actor Mauricio Aspe back in 1999, and their divorce was finalized in 2004; he’s been acting since the age of six and today has 36 credits, while he’s perhaps still known best for playing Hector San Roman in four episodes of the 2009 crime mystery series “Stepmother”.

We also know that Margarita gave birth to her daughter Constanza on 19 January 2012; the girl’s father is Margarita’s former boyfriend Adalberto Palma, who’s a Mexican soccer player.

Margarita seems to be single as of December 2023, was once married to Mauricio Aspe and has a daughter with former boyfriend Adalberto Palma.

Margarita’s a social media star as over 1.2 million people are following her on the network today, and she’s posted nearly 1,400 pictures and videos; most of her content features her acting, spending time with friends and cooking at home.

Margarita’s become passionate about travelling and has been to various South American countries and US states, for both work and pleasure; her dream travel destination’s Barcelona, Spain.

She’s a philanthropist and has worked with various charity organizations, mostly with those aiming to help children.

Margarita has her own favorite actresses, some of whom are Thalia, Dolores del Rio and Salma Hayek, and a couple of her favorite movies and TV series are “Maria Candelaria”, “The Soldiers of Pancho Villa” and “Flaming Star”.
