Footage from Marion County, Florida, captures sheriff’s investigators interrogating a 14-year-old boy who assaulted a 91-year-old woman sexually.
“You need to be honest with me, Randy,” one of the investigators said.
The defendant, who went by the nickname “Randy John,” was young Jesse Stone.
Stone broke into the woman’s home. He attacked her after she woke up to find him sneaking around.
Investigators confronted Stone with his DNA being found on her.
Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods has made a lengthy statement taking stock of the case:
Last week, I reassured everyone that we would identify the person responsible, and we have successfully done so. I am immensely proud of the dedication displayed by my detectives and forensics team in promptly resolving this case. Despite my years in law enforcement, I am still taken aback by the sheer brutality of this violent act. The Reddick community has exhibited remarkable resilience and support for both us and their own community throughout this ordeal. I extend my gratitude to all the citizens who provided tips and leads in this investigation. The revelation that an individual would commit such a heinous act against a 91-year-old is deeply unsettling, especially considering the young age of the perpetrator. While I firmly advocate for his accountability, my heart reaches out to his family from a father’s perspective. I sincerely hope that his arrest will pave the way for him to receive the necessary assistance to prevent any recurrence of such atrocities.
Stone, tried as an adult, admitted guilt last year to charges of sexual assault by a minor against a victim over 12 years old and burglary of a dwelling with battery. According to records, he is scheduled for sentencing on Feb. 7.
