Stone was arrested after investigators spoke to the victim about what happened.
“The defendant and the victim share a child together,” the complaint says.
The criminal complaint alleges that “The defendant assaulted the victim by dousing her with gasoline, and lighting her on fire,” resulting in severe burns that necessitated medical treatment and surgical procedures. The victim herself provided this information.
Stone appeared in court Tuesday and was given a $250,000 bond. He has at least two prior convictions for domestic violence, according to the complaint.
Court records show Stone requested a public defender and was assigned one Tuesday. A temporary protection order was put in place for the victim and Stone was scheduled to appear in court for his preliminary hearing on June 3.
