A Florida grandfather was shot and killed by a neighbor in an argument over loud music on Thanksgiving Day.

The shooting happened at about 3:30 p.m. Broward County Regional Communications received reports of shots fired in the 2800 block of Somerset Drive in Lauderdale Lakes, about 32 miles north of Miami.
The gunman shot McLean in the head and remained outside of a room with a gun still in his hand, The South Florida Sun Sentinel reported, citing first responder radio transmissions. Once there, deputies found McLean suffering from a gunshot wound. He was declared dead at the scene.
Deputies detained the shooter, who cooperated with detectives and claimed self-defense, authorities said. The Sheriff’s Office said investigators will present their case to the Broward County State Attorney’s Office to determine if criminal charges will be filed.
Rose McLean, Hureleyon’s wife, spoke to various media outlets, describing what happened during a Thanksgiving Day celebration.
“He was playing his music, and the guy said he was playing it too loud,” she told local NBC affiliate WTVJ. “So my husband, he went down to him.”
Then she said she heard she heard a gunshot.
“I heard it, and I just flew to the door,” she added. “When I look out, my husband was laying face down in the blood.”
She said she went downstairs and found the gunman standing next to her husband.
“He was just standing, looking at me with his gun in his hand,” she told local Fox affiliate WSVN. “And I go up to him and say, ‘Why did you shoot my husband? Why?’ And he said to me, ‘If I didn’t shut my mouth, he would shoot me, too.””
Rose McLean questioned the man’s self-defense claim.
“My husband didn’t have any weapons,” she said, WTVJ reported. “My husband didn’t even have a knife on him.”
