A month after getting caught trying to hire someone to murder her husband, Victoria Goodwin is pleading guilty to one of the charges against her.
Court documents obtained by TMZ reveal that Victoria Goodwin, aged 32, has come to a plea agreement with Clark County prosecutors. The accusations against her involved allegedly trying to persuade someone to kill her husband, Aaron Goodwin, aged 48, who is known for his role in “Ghost Adventures.” Goodwin is set to plead guilty to conspiracy to commit murder, with the solicitation to commit murder charge being dropped by prosecutors.
Reports from TMZ suggest that by accepting the plea agreement, Victoria Goodwin could potentially receive a shorter sentence than if she had gone to trial and been convicted.
Prior reports from Law&Crime indicated that Victoria Goodwin had been in contact with Grant Amato, aged 35, who is currently serving a life sentence in Florida for the murders of his parents and brother. During their conversations, Goodwin allegedly shared information with Amato about the whereabouts of Aaron Goodwin while he was filming “Ghost Adventures.” Amato then purportedly engaged in discussions with a potential hitman and passed along details to Victoria Goodwin.
Victoria Goodwin, according to court documents, once asked Amato, “Am I a bad person? Because I chose to end his existence. Not divorce.”
One exchange between Amato and his guy on the outside seemed to prove just how close Aaron Goodwin came to being in danger. Amato apparently wrote to the unnamed party, “He’s asleep right now in the hotel room … I need to know what’s going on. Can I get an update. Was it done?”
Amato’s phone was eventually confiscated by corrections officers and searched, which promptly revealed the conversations he was having with Victoria Goodwin and the hit man she now admitted to wanting to hire. Police said that Victoria Goodwin had allegedly saved up a total of $11,515 to pay for the murder and exchanged several messages about a $2,500 down payment.
Soon after Victoria Goodwin was arrested, Aaron Goodwin filed for divorce. He told TMZ at the time that he was “blindsided and devastated.”
Victoria Goodwin now faces between two and 10 years in prison and a possible $5,000 fine. A judge will determine her sentence at a later date.
