A former NFL player was sued by a New York woman who accused him of intentionally infecting her with a sexually transmitted disease.
Former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Eric Moulds has been accused in a lawsuit by a woman – whose identity has not been revealed by Law&Crime – of pursuing a sexual relationship with her while allegedly being aware of his herpes condition, which has no cure. The lawsuit claims that Moulds repeated this behavior with multiple women, specifically targeting single mothers who were Buffalo Bills fans residing in Western New York.
The legal action, filed on Dec. 10, detailed that Moulds initiated contact with the woman on Instagram in 2018. Their communication progressed to text messages by December 2019, ultimately leading to what was described as a long-term romantic involvement. Moulds purportedly offered his services as a trainer and financed the woman’s trip from upstate New York to his hometown in Charlotte, North Carolina. However, instead of athletic training, their interaction turned into a sexual relationship.
The woman later made several more trips down south to see Moulds at his expense.
By November 2022, the woman and Moulds had their final documented sexual encounter, reportedly without protection. Following this, in December 2022, the woman began experiencing symptoms and subsequently tested positive for herpes simplex virus type 2, a condition that can be managed but not fully eradicated.
Since the woman had been exclusively seeing Moulds, she concluded that she contracted the disease from him, but he allegedly never disclosed that he had an STD.

The woman also learned that Moulds had a “pregnant fiancée with whom he had been in a relationship for eight years.” The fiancee told the alleged victim that “she should get tested for sexually transmitted diseases because she, along with other women whom Defendant had relationships with, had been transmitted diseases by him,” according to the lawsuit.
“Plaintiff subsequently learned that Defendant had also engaged with multiple women besides Plaintiff via social media. Based upon information and belief, Defendant targeted single mothers who were Buffalo Bills fans living in Western New York,” the lawsuit states.
The lawsuit claims that Moulds “was also sued by several women for knowingly spreading herpes over a decade ago” and paid them for their silence. He allegedly made them sign nondisclosure agreements as well. The woman suing Moulds now also claimed to have been offered payment in exchange for dropping her lawsuit and “buy her silence.”
Based on the numerous previous lawsuits, the lawsuit alleged that Moulds “intentionally” infected multiple women with herpes.
Moulds is being sued for negligence and intentional causes of action, failure to disclose, and infliction of emotional distress.
Frank LoTempio III, the attorney representing Moulds, told Law & Crime, “We are in the process of gathering information and responding to the complaint, which we will vigorously defend. I will have more information and comments once the litigation process starts.”
Law & Crime also reached out to the woman’s attorney, Kevin Stocker, but did not get an immediate response.
