A Wisconsin mother who starved her adult daughter with “severe autism” to death pleaded guilty in court on Thursday afternoon.

Amy S. Laszkiewicz, aged 53, faced charges in June 2023 related to the death of her daughter, Cora Laszkiewicz, aged 23, who passed away on January 4, 2023, due to malnourishment. The allegations were detailed in a criminal complaint obtained by Law&Crime, citing one charge of recklessly subjecting an at-risk individual to abuse under circumstances resulting in death.

According to the Waukesha County District Attorney’s Office, the defendant claimed that the extreme starvation measures were implemented partly because she wanted to avoid upsetting her daughter, who has since passed away, with discussions about her weight that she believed to be potentially distressing.
