An Ohio mother was arrested and charged with domestic violence after a video of her allegedly abusing her baby went viral.
Cloe Workman, aged 20, was taken into custody last week and faced charges of endangering a child and domestic violence, both classified as felonies. As per documents from WKRC, a local CBS affiliate, Workman was recorded in a video where she appeared to spit on her baby’s face, push the baby down by the head, and allegedly force-fed the baby “dish detergent.” The distressing video was initially sent to the baby’s father and eventually circulated widely online.
The purported incident occurred earlier in the week, with a report being lodged the next day by individuals who witnessed the video and demanded Workman’s apprehension, as detailed by the Cincinnati Enquirer. Following the public outrage, the Loveland Police Department and Child Protective Services launched an inquiry into the matter. Initially charged with endangering a child, a supplementary charge for domestic violence was brought against Workman the subsequent day in relation to the same incident.

The little girl, who is just over a year old, was reported to be safe and in the custody of Workman’s grandparents. The father’s brother — the baby’s uncle — started a GoFundMe page to raise money for the girl’s father to hire an attorney and gain custody of his daughter.
Workman was booked into the Hamilton County Jail and was released on her own recognizance. She appeared in court on Friday. A judge ordered her to wear a 24-hour monitoring device and to remain under house arrest until her next trial date on Jan. 6.
