A 21-year-old Iowa woman was charged with child endangerment resulting in death after her toddler son drowned in the bathtub.

Kayla Bevar was taken into custody on December 4 after an inquiry into the tragic drowning of her 20-month-old son. The West Des Moines Police Department revealed that they received a distress call from Bevar’s residence around 7 p.m. on October 31. Reports showed that Bevar contacted emergency services upon discovering her son in the water. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the child was pronounced dead.
