A dispute on a Seattle bus about a fogged-up window reportedly resulted in the bus driver being pepper-sprayed and then fatally stabbed by a passenger who, days later, was seen nonchalantly napping beside other commuters on public transit, as per law enforcement officials.

Richard Sitzlack, aged 53, was taken into custody early Saturday and formally accused of second-degree murder for the stabbing death of King County Metro Transit operator Shawn Yim last Wednesday while he was navigating his Route 70 bus near the corner of 15th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 41st Street, according to details provided by the Seattle Police Department. Yim, 59, was trying to ventilate the bus by keeping a window open to prevent fogging when Sitzlack allegedly engaged in a disagreement with him about closing it, according to court records reviewed by The Seattle Times.
