Man set fire to house after shooting father, brother: Police
Man accused of allegedly killing father and brother before setting house on fire

News footage captured the scene at a home in Gig Harbor, Wash., where two men were discovered with gunshot wounds in April. Luis Miguel Huitron-Campos was identified in court in connection to the incident.

A Washington man who failed to show up for his father’s and brother’s memorial services has been accused of their alleged double murder.

According to court records from local ABC affiliate KOMO, Luis Miguel Huitron-Campos, aged 25, was arrested following an investigation into a house fire in Gig Harbor. The city is located around 13 miles northwest of Tacoma. On April 8, law enforcement officers and fire responders from Gig Harbor arrived at the residence to find the deceased bodies of a 64-year-old man and a 31-year-old man. Though the names were not publicly released, they were confirmed to be father and son.

Both individuals had suffered gunshot wounds to the head. The medical examiner’s report indicated that the father was still alive when the house was purportedly set ablaze.

Huitron-Campos was the man’s younger son and the brother of the other alleged victim.

KOMO reported that Huitron-Campos had not been cooperative with police immediately following the fire, and he did not make an appearance at the memorial services for his deceased relatives. KIRO, a local CBS affiliate, reported that a family member stated that they told police they were unable to make contact with Huitron-Campos on April 10.

More reported evidence at the scene included a 9 mm Heckler & Koch pistol found at Huitron-Campos’ home, which matched what investigators believed was the alleged murder weapon for both the father and son.
