A Tennessee senator, reelected this year and serving as the chairman of the state’s Senate Republican Caucus, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. The arrest stemmed from his alleged involvement in a hit-and-run accident. He was reportedly driving a vehicle with legislative plates, which was funded through his campaign account, as stated by law enforcement officials and news sources.

Sen. Ken Yager (R-Kingston) was caught driving drunk in Glynn County, Georgia, with an alleged blood alcohol concentration level of 0.14 — nearly double the state’s legal limit of 0.08 — on Tuesday evening at around 5 p.m., according to the Tennessee Lookout.
