According to court records and an arrest affidavit obtained by Miami ABC affiliate WPLG, Parkinson’s alleged crime spree unfolded after an accident with a woman’s Hyundai Sonata on Interstate 95 near West Atlantic Boulevard in Pompano Beach. Following the initial collision, Parkinson reportedly fled the scene, leading the woman in the Hyundai to follow her to a nearby Wawa gas station. Upon confrontation by a passenger from the Hyundai, the situation escalated.
Parkinson put the car in reverse, nearly hitting the Hyundai, the affidavit reportedly said. Meanwhile, a good Samaritan in a pickup truck came by to help. But then Parkinson reportedly started “to go after” the man in the pickup after he drove away, rear-ending him “multiple times.” The pickup driver lost control and crashed into the Wawa sign, according to cops.
Not yet done, Parkinson tried to carjack the Hyundai, the affidavit reportedly said. The passenger was able to fight Parkinson off, cops said.
Deputies arrested Parkinson and took her to jail. There were no reports of any serious injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
