Florida woman runs good Samaritan into Wawa sign: Cops

A woman in Florida is accused of hitting a vehicle and then forcing a good Samaritan’s truck off the road, causing it to crash into a gas station sign. She also attempted to steal the car involved in the initial hit-and-run incident, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.

Melisa Maria Parkinson, aged 46, is currently facing several charges including carjacking, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal mischief, and leaving the scene of a crash. She can be seen smirking in her mugshot, and is being held at Broward County Jail on a $25,000 bond.

According to court records and an arrest affidavit obtained by Miami ABC affiliate WPLG, Parkinson’s alleged crime spree unfolded after an accident with a woman’s Hyundai Sonata on Interstate 95 near West Atlantic Boulevard in Pompano Beach. Following the initial collision, Parkinson reportedly fled the scene, leading the woman in the Hyundai to follow her to a nearby Wawa gas station. Upon confrontation by a passenger from the Hyundai, the situation escalated.
