Brittany Nicole Holbrook shot and killed her boyfriend Tyler Kinnon Nulisch, deputies said. (Mug shot: Monroe County Sheriff’s Office)
Deputies who arrived at Tyler Kinnon Nulisch’s Florida Keys home found the 30-year-old dying from a bullet wound. His girlfriend, Brittany Nicole Holbrook, 35, who was identified as the killer, claimed that Nulisch had choked her. However, according to Monroe County deputies in Florida, this was proven false as there were no marks on her throat.
Online records indicate that Holbrook was sentenced to 40 years in prison for second-degree murder. It was reported that she had shot Nulisch in the lower back.
“The b—- shot me in the back,” he told his roommate in his dying words.
Jurors convicted Holbrook in February for the June 17, 2023, killing.
One of Nulisch’s friends told Fox News in a June 2023 report that Holbrook acted affable — usually. Victim and killer were in love.
“Everyone saw this,” she said. “They seemed like the perfect couple.”
Holbrook, however, changed when drinking alcohol.
A friend mentioned that although Holbrook appeared normal most of the time, she would transform into a completely different person when intoxicated. The friend described her behavior as monstrous, mentioning a sudden switch where she would start screaming, throwing objects, and physically attacking Tyler.
This is relevant because Holbrook had been drinking with the roommate and Nulisch before the murder. The roommate went to bed, only to wake up to the sound of Holbrook screaming in the living room.
Holbrook, the other friend told Fox News, had drunk alcohol two days before the killing and ranted violently about an ex-boyfriend.
“I’m going to kill him and take a knife into his stomach and rip upward to his throat,” Holbrook allegedly said.
The friend said, “It was like she was describing gutting a deer.”
Holbrook is getting 665 days time-served credit.
