Goals from Neymar and Kylian Mbappe handed Paris Saint-Germain a 2-1 victory over rivals Marseille in Le Classique on Sunday night.

The win leaves Mauricio Pochettino‘s side on the brink of being crowned Ligue 1 champions, with PSG now 15 points ahead of second placed Marseille with six games left.

Neymar grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck. Pau Lopez came out for Marco Verratti‘s cross and the Brazilian managed to get his toe to ball and guide it into the net. It was the Brazilian’s sixth goal in the last three games for PSG.

However, despite the goal, PSG didn’t manage to control the game and Marseille equalised through Caleta-Car, after some indecisive defending.

Early in the second half, Valentin Rongier was adjudged to have handled inside the area, and VAR advised the referee to review the incident, who eventually awarded the spot kick.

Mbappe stepped up and slotted the ball home to put PSG ahead, a goal which would end up proving the difference between the two sides.
