A 2-year-old girl reportedly died on Wednesday in a hot car in Maryland.
The girl’s lifeless body was discovered in a vehicle close to Arcola Elementary School in Silver Spring. According to reports from WJLA, it was revealed that the father had dropped off one child at school but had inadvertently left the toddler in the car, only realizing the tragic mistake hours later when the child was found unconscious.
Officials have not publicly identified the toddler girl. They also have not confirmed whether she died due to being in the hot car.
If confirmed, the 2-year-old girl would be the second hot-car death this year. According to No Heat Stroke, 39 children died in hot cars last year.
