In a recent chat with People Magazine, Holker delved into her upcoming deeply personal book titled “This Far: My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Light,” which will hit the shelves on February 8. The memoir documents her emotional path through mourning while providing a message of optimism and perseverance to those encountering similar challenges.

Holker revealed that she had been working on the memoir for years but paused the project in the aftermath of Boss’s death. Now, she feels ready to share her story with the world. However, the decision to share intimate details of Boss’s life, including references to his mental health struggles, has sparked controversy.

tWitch’s cousin, Darielle, shared a post on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, to express, “I’m so tired of keeping my f-cking mouth shut bro. You did our family so mf dirty.”

In a separate post, Darielle alleged that Holker required her and tWitch’s family to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to attend his funeral and has since prevented them from seeing his children. “Yeah idgaf about an NDA. This crazy woman made me and his actual family sign an NDA just to even attend the funeral,” she wrote. “She’s been trying to tarnish his legacy and refuses to let the Boss family see the children. Only to exploit and LIE on my cousin. Hell no.”

Former “So You Think You Can Dance” contestant Courtney Ann Platt also publicly criticized Holker in an emotional Instagram post, calling the memoir “tacky, classless, and opportunistic” and calling Holker a “bulldozer.”

“This is by far the most tacky, classless, opportunistic act I have ever seen in my entire life,” Platt wrote. “You’re a living, breathing bulldozer. Stick to your own demons. Shame on you, Allison, shame on your money-hungry team. Let my friend rest in peace.”

Adding to the tension, Boss’s brother, Dré Rose, expressed disappointment over what he described as a lack of communication between Holker and Boss’s family. “We have noticed a disturbing lack of communication and inclusion concerning the children’s activities and well-being,” he shared in a statement. “It’s disheartening that their interactions with their grandmother, and the wider family, have been noticeably limited.”

While Holker has not directly addressed Platt or Rose’s comments, she responded to a fellow dancer, Kelly Gibson, who expressed sadness over the public backlash. “This whole thing made me sad. He’s gone. Why tear apart this name? This paycheck was not worth disgracing his name,” Gibson commented on People‘s Instagram post.

Holker replied, “I’ll always love you. Just trying to help people feel safe to ask for help and support.”

Since the backlash began, Holker has also shared supportive messages from fans and mental health advocates on her Instagram Stories. One post read, “Sharing this powerful message to remind us all how important it is to have open conversations about mental health.”
