In an exclusive interview with The Daily Mail in April, Burrell openly discussed her interest in joining Meghan’s cooking show. When questioned about the possibility of appearing on the series, she humorously expressed her desire, stating:

“Sure, of course. I’d go to the opening of an envelope. Why not cook with Meghan?”

While a famous chef like Burrell was open to working with Meghan, a renowned British media personality disapproved of the lifestyle series.

Early this month, The Blast shared that Esther Krakue, a popular political commentator, had slammed the Duchess of Sussex as “boring” in a scathing review of her show.

Krakue claimed Meghan was not “an entertainer or an entertaining person,” arguing that she lacked the vibrant personality to host a show.

“It’s very clear that she is not box office in terms of entertainment quality,” the critic declared, noting Netflix took a “business risk” working with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

While Meghan did not have a relationship with Burrell despite the late chef’s interest in her show, tributes have poured in from those who did. The Blast covered fellow chef Elizabeth Falkner’s reaction to her longtime pal’s passing, revealing they had reconnected days before Burrell’s death.

Falkner confessed that their recent reunion made Burrell’s demise more personal and painful because the latter seemed to be in excellent health. She recalled inviting her late pal to a dinner she hosted at SoHo, noting they had a great time bonding.

“It was just so sweet,” Falkner declared, sharing that Burrell texted her the next day to ensure they spent more time together in the future.

“We were like, ‘Let’s just make a point of talking and texting more often.’ I’m very grateful to have had that special night. I feel like [our friendship] just got cut really short fast,” she lamented.
