Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo Among ‘Wicked’ Cast Members at 2025 Oscars

The stars of “Wicked” brought Broadway magic to Hollywood as they arrived at the 2025 Oscars, turning heads on the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre.

Ariana Grande takes on the role of Glinda, while Cynthia Erivo stars as Elpheba, alongside their castmates who made a striking entrance in dazzling attire, bringing a touch of green sparkle and theatrical elegance to the event.

With “Wicked” nominated in several major categories, including Best Picture, the cast’s arrival only heightened the anticipation for the 2025 Oscars.

Ethan Slater, who starred in “Wicked” alongside his girlfriend, Ariana Grande, gushed over his co-star while on the red carpet of the 2025 Oscars.

“What a beautiful thing this has been,” he said of the “Wicked” success. “[Ariana has] accomplished something really amazing; I’m so proud of her.”

Even though not up for individual awards, Bowen Yang made a noteworthy presence at the 2025 Oscars red carpet, donning a stylish light pink frilly shirt matched with a sleek black suit jacket embellished with floral designs.

Yang had a role in “Wicked” as one of Glinda’s (Ariana Grande) closest companions. The movie has received 10 Academy Award nominations this evening, including a bid for Best Picture.

Jeff Goldblum stars as The Wizard in the highly anticipated film adaptation of “Wicked.”

“Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo will further thrill you and chill you and devastate you,” he teased.

The second and final installment of “Wicked” will be released on November 21, 2025, and it will be called “Wicked: For Good.”

Grande made a stunning entrance at the 2025 Academy Awards, delivering yet another show-stopping Glinda-inspired look. She appeared on the red carpet in a gorgeous Schiaparelli gown featuring a dramatic peplum that flowed into a soft, gauzy skirt. Her look was completed with her hair elegantly pulled back and simple jewelry that added a touch of understated elegance.

Grande shared an emotional response to her Oscar nomination on Instagram, writing, “picking my head up in between sobs to say thank you so much to @theacademy for this unfathomable recognition. I cannot stop crying, to no one’s surprise.”

She added, “I’m humbled and deeply honored to be in such brilliant company and sharing this with tiny Ari, who sat and studied Judy Garland singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow just before the big, beautiful bubble entered. I’m so proud of you, tiny. Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart, for this acknowledgement @theacademy.”

Erivo, who plays Elphaba, is up for Best Actress, marking a historic moment as the second Black woman to receive multiple nominations in this category, according to Gold Derby.

She is just one award away from achieving EGOT status, as she competes for the Best Actress Oscar for the second time.

Past EGOT winners include Audrey Hepburn, Mel Brooks, Whoopi Goldberg, Sir Elton John, and the musical duo Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber and Sir Tim Rice.

She is also set to take the stage during the Oscars ceremony, adding her powerhouse vocals to the evening’s lineup. When asked on the red carpet what viewers could expect from her performance, Erivo teased to ABC News, “When you see it, you will know.” The cryptic response only heightened anticipation for what promises to be a memorable moment at the 2025 Academy Awards.
