Katie Thurston is paying a lot — and we mean a lot — for fertility treatments before she begins chemo later this year.
The Bachelorette star took to Instagram Story to outline the expenses involved in accessing fertility care. Sharing a screenshot on Sunday, March 9, she captioned it, “Just one of my daily shots broken down by cost.” She highlighted that her fertility treatments would receive coverage in New York due to her battle with breast cancer.
The claim sheet Thurston shared showed the cost of the shot is $24,349.18 and she has a discount of $11,337.43. Her insurance will pay $11,267.43.
Thurston opened up earlier that same day about a shift in her perspective on parenthood since meeting her fiancé, Jeff Arcuri. In a Story post, she expressed, “One day you think you don’t want kids. Then one day you meet the man of your dreams and would do anything to make sure we can start a family in the future.”
Additionally, Thurston posted a video showcasing syringes, medications, and alcohol prep pads. In another post, she explained the regimen leading up to the egg retrieval process. She detailed, “For those who aren’t familiar with fertility treatment here is a typical schedule: 3 pills a day to keep my estrogen down. A shot in my stomach in the AM. Two shots in my stomach in the PM.”
Thurston explained that she visits a clinic for a blood draw “every other day” as part of her fertility treatment. She is currently in her second week of the retrieval process. The reality star shared her breast cancer diagnosis in February.
Thurston and Arcuri got engaged in September 2024. A source confirmed to Us Weekly that Arcuri proposed at Secret Beach in Kauai, Hawaii, in August of the same year. The pair first connected in April and met in person in May.
Thurston confirmed during a May appearance on the “Your Mom & Dad” podcast that she was “happily snatched up.” She explained, “I’m seeing somebody. I haven’t actually said this yet. You heard it here first. [I’ve been] taken off the market.”
“We’re just kinda enjoying us right now,” she said. “I don’t know if there’s anything I hate about him. Everything’s still cute and quirky and adorable.”
The duo made their relationship public one month later when Thurston shared a photo of the two in a post on Instagram. “Safe to say he’s making it to hometowns next week ❤️,” Thurston wrote at the time, referencing her Bachelor Nation past.
