Bisexual Rapper Says 'Years Of Emotional Abuse' From Khalid Caused Him To Out Singer

The individual who publicly disclosed Khalid‘s sexual orientation as gay last week is attributing his actions to the “years of emotional abuse” he allegedly endured from the singer. This was stated as the primary reason that prompted him to reveal this information about the “Young Dumb & Broke” artist on various social media platforms.

Rapper and bisexual adult content producer Hugo D Almonte decided to share his perspective on the controversial incident through a detailed post on Instagram Stories last Thursday. He expressed regret for his behavior while emphasizing that there were undisclosed aspects of the situation that the general public was not aware of.

Almonte Says His Relationship With Khalid ‘Took A Dark Turn’ Early On

In his post, Almonte, who never mentions Khalid by name, claims he was introduced to “this person” at a party in L.A. several years ago.

Though he wasn’t aware who the singer was, the two would hit it off via exchanges on social media two months later.

“They reached out to me on Twitter, saying they loved my energy and wanted to get to know me better,” Almonte shared.

“I felt flattered and intrigued. They informed me that they had been observing me for some time, even saving my pictures, but refrained from reaching out earlier because they were in a relationship with someone else back then,” Almonte disclosed.

Khalid would open up early in their connection, which Almonte says started as a friendship. The singer would purportedly share details of “someone they loved” stealing $100,000 from them, despite never being in a relationship with the alleged thief.

Almonte says the story made them “cautious,” but as he never “used anyone for money, fame, or influence,” he assumed Khalid knew he had no intent of doing anything similar.

Over time, the friendship grew romantic, with Khalid eventually asking Almonte to move in with him. Almonte agreed and went house hunting with the star, but chose to keep his apartment.

“I didn’t want to give up my independence because I knew how [things] like this could turn,” he expressed.

“I didn’t want to be controlled or manipulated – but things took a darker turn.”

Almonte doesn’t note how long his relationship with Khalid lasted – but professed he soon began to hear rumors of him breaking into the singer’s home.

“Out of nowhere, I started hearing rumors,” Almonte relayed, “false accusations that I had broken into their house and stolen from them. At first, I stayed silent, hoping it would pass. I even saw them at a party two years ago.”

“When they saw me, they ran out of the club, pacing back and forth. I knew they were nervous because they were spreading lies they couldn’t back up,” the rapper continued, “but I still said nothing.”

Four years later, the whispers regarding Almonte’s alleged break-in were still getting back to him. Almonte then supposedly heard from Khalid.

“They sent me a message directly [that said], ‘Good luck with your career. You’re lucky I don’t get the cops involved!’” Almonte recalled.

The accusation sent waves of fear through Almonte.

“Imagine being accused of something so serious — something you know you didn’t do, and then being threatened on top of it,” he wrote.

Almonte Tried To Clear His Name Through Khalid’s Manager

Almonte would later connect with Khalid’s manager to stop the rumors. According to him, the manager was already aware of his innocence.

“Their manager confirmed what I already knew: I didn’t do it,” Almonte says. “They found out who really broke into [Khalid’s] house. And yet, even with the truth out there, the lies didn’t stop.”

After years of “carrying the weight” of “constant lies, manipulation, and threats,” Almonte lost control and took to social media last Friday to reveal his relationship with Khalid, subsequently outing the singer.

Later in his post, Almonte would declare that on the day he took to X to out Khalid, he wasn’t in a “rational state of mind.”

“I had reached my breaking point,” he wrote. The stress, the accusations, the lies — it all built up until I went into a psychosis. I wasn’t thinking clearly. I was reacting from a place of deep pain and frustration.”

Looking back, Almonte admits that doing so didn’t help nor ease the stress he’s supposedly been tackling.

“I reached a point where my mental health collapsed, and I made a mistake I deeply regret,” he claimed.

“Moving forward, I’m focusing on healing — mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I’m learning from this experience and working to ensure I never handle conflict in this way again.”

Khalid Has Been Mostly Silent Since His Outing But Has Received Waves Of Support From Others

Two days after Almonte first outed Khalid, the 26-year-old “Loves Lies” singer posted a video response on X, where he gave his side of the story, clearing up earlier accusations lobbied against him.

Along with denying claims of using “pink cocaine” and paying for escorts, he insinuated that the rapper had abused him throughout their relationship, which, by his recollection, occurred “four or five years ago.”

“It’s triggering seeing a few comments of people painting me as if I’m just some manipulative abuser,” Khalid stated. “It’s just crazy to me. It was the other way around. That’s what hurts the most.”

He has been mostly silent since then but has received an outpouring of support from his fans on social media in his absence, as noted here on The Blast.
