Brad Pitt is preparing to promote his new movie, F1, which delves into the world of Formula One racing. Recently, he addressed rumors that the promotion of the film coincided with his public debut alongside girlfriend Ines de Ramon almost a year ago.
In a GQ profile released on Wednesday, May 28, the 61-year-old actor playfully dismissed the idea that their public appearances were strategically planned. Pitt hinted that it was merely a happy accident that they happened to step out together at a car race, stating, “No, dude, it’s not that calculated. If you’re living … oh my God, how exhausting would that be? If you’re living with making those kinds of calculations? No, life just evolves. Relationships evolve.”
The couple, with de Ramon being 32 years old, marked their first public outing at the British Grand Prix in July 2024. Later, they graced the red carpet together for the first time at the Venice International Film Festival in September of the same year, celebrating the premiere of Pitt’s movie Wolfs.
Pitt’s romance with de Ramon is his first since he and ex-wife Angelina Jolie finalized their divorce.
“I don’t think it was that major of a thing,” Pitt told GQ of settling their years-long divorce battle. “Just something coming to fruition. Legally.”
Pitt was married to Jolie, now 49, from 2014 to 2016 after a decade of dating. As they battled for custody of their minor children — Pitt and Jolie are parents of six — and ownership of their French winery, they were declared legally single in November 2019.
Pitt and Jolie eventually settled the eight-year proceedings in December 2024.
“More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time, she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family,” Jolie’s lawyer James Simon told Us Weekly in a statement. “This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.”
A source told Us earlier this year that de Ramon encouraged Pitt to settle his divorce.
“Ines [wants] Brad to find peace, forgive and move on,” the insider said in January. “From her perspective, it doesn’t make sense for him to hold on to all the animosity.”
According to the source, de Ramon was hopeful that her calm demeanor would help him “patch things up” with Jolie.
“Being with her has brought new meaning to his life. Brad can’t rave enough about how madly in love he is,” the source added to Us. “They complement each other.”
While Pitt had seldom spoken about his romance with de Ramon or his divorce at length, he noted to GQ that he is “really happy” at the moment.
