Chelsea Handler makes biting remark about Elon Musk after being requested to go out with the billionaire

Chelsea Handler slammed SpaceX boss Elon Musk during her Saturday appearance at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas.

The famous comedian was speaking about how she felt about President Donald Trump‘s administration when her distaste for Musk was revealed.

Chelsea Handler also shared that, unlike Trump’s first term in office, she wouldn’t let his presidency steal her joy this time.

Chelsea Handler wore an all-white pantsuit as she took center stage at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Texas. Her sharp humor and bold demeanor were on full display as she playfully teased Elon Musk.

At the festival, Handler engaged in a conversation with journalist Kara Swisher. They delved into Handler’s thoughts on President Trump’s time in office and his team, which includes Musk leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Reported by the Daily Beast, Swisher playfully shared with the audience that she had once suggested to Handler to consider dating Musk. She humorously urged Handler to “take one for the team and date Elon Musk to enlighten us all.”

However, the comedian wasn’t interested in having anything to do with the Billionaire tech boss and even went on to take a swipe at him.

“There’s a lot I would do for the country, but having sex with Elon Musk is not one of them. I can’t,” Handler said.

It comes amid reports that Musk has fathered 14 children after Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis confirmed the birth of their fourth child together earlier this month.

This is not the first time Handler has poked fun at the Tesla boss or called him names, as she referred to him as “repugnant” in 2023.

Elsewhere in her chat with Swisher, she made sure to slam Musk and his place in Trump’s presidency, wondering why he gets access to the Oval Office despite his role as head of the DOGE.

“I mean did anyone vote for Elon Musk to be the president?” She questioned. “I mean, can’t we come together–Republicans and Democrats–and say we don’t want that. Can’t we agree on that, at least?”

“I don’t know why we can’t somehow figure out a way to get together and at least have one goal in mind to not be, you know, a Russian asset,” she added.

Handler also discussed how she plans to navigate Trump’s ongoing second tenure.

She told Swisher that his first stint as president stole her joy but noted that she wouldn’t allow that to happen this time.

“You know, the first Trump presidency, for instance, I let it take me down, and I let it steal my joy. And I am not going to do that again,” she said. “It’s the power of being optimistic in the dark and not going down a wormhole.”

She then clarified that she is not inclined to settle down amid rumors that she’s going out with actor Ralph Fiennes.

“I like a variety of men. I like men in my life. I’m not a settle-down kind of girl,” she shared.

During the chat at SXSW, Swisher declared that Handler would be Vice President J.D. Vance’s ultimate nightmare.

“Those types of men that want to keep women at home and being mothers, and you know, not having a career, like that’s just so antiquated and it’s so slow and it’s so boring,” she replied.

Handler continued, “I think the political situation we’re in is a direct reflection of the fact that men are so scared of women. Like why are you acting like this if you’re not?”

Handler also expressed confidence that men like Vance cannot suppress women, emphasizing, “Women are more powerful and independent than we’ve ever been, and that isn’t going to change.”

Handler’s statement of not being a “settle down kind of girl” comes after she sparked romance rumors with Ralph Fiennes.

The pair were spotted leaving the Vanity Fair Oscars Party together earlier this month and were seen smiling as they walked arm-in-arm after the event.

However, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she distanced herself from the reports, explaining that she was simply walking to a party with the actor and that was “all that happened.”

“I don’t think Ralph Fiennes is marriage material,” Handler said. “And I don’t think I’m marriage material.”

She, however, admitted that because they both aren’t necessarily “marriage material,” things might work between them.

“I don’t think either one of us is getting married,” she said.
