“Clarifying the Alleged Harassment in Blake Lively’s ‘It Ends With Us’ Involving Justin Baldoni”

Although there have not been any claims of feces on the bed as of now, Lively stated that her co-star and director from “It Ends With Us” subjected her to sexual harassment and body shaming during the filming. On the other hand, Baldoni retaliated with a lawsuit, asserting that she was the one who was aggressive and used her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and her close friend Taylor Swift to seize creative control of his film.

During the premiere of “It Ends With Us” in New York City on August 6, Blake Lively revealed that her husband was the one who penned the rooftop scene featured in the movie. She disclosed this information to E! News on that occasion, saying, “The iconic rooftop scene, my husband actually wrote it. Nobody knows that but you now.”

She elaborated by stating, “We support each other. He is involved in everything I do, and I am involved in everything he does. Therefore, his triumphs and victories are mine, and mine are his,” making a subtle reference to her appearance as Ladypool in “Deadpool & Wolverine”

The news of Reynolds’ involvement made headlines at the time, but it has also faced new scrutiny following alleged text messages seemingly showing that Baldoni was pressured into accepting the changes.

More news about the rooftop scene resurfaced in leaked text messages, with Baldoni seemingly telling her that while the changes made the scene more “fun and interesting,” he “would have felt that way without Ryan and Taylor.”

In their text message exchange, Lively compares herself to a “Game of Thrones” character, allegedly responding, “I happen to have a few dragons. For better or worse, but usually for better. Because my dragons also protect those I fight for. So really we all benefit from those gorgeous monsters of mine. [Smiley-face emoji] You will too, I can promise you.”

Judging by how all of this has played out across headlines, and will later in courtrooms, it’s likely that no one ultimately benefited from the script change. Except their respective lawyers, of course.

It’s awkward trying to make a new friend. It’s also awkward trying to figure out what to text someone for the first time. It’s really, really awkward trying to make a new friend with someone you’ve never met before over text, but that’s what Baldoni decided to do when he texted the “Deadpool” actor with an offer of friendship.

“I asked Blake for your number well over a month ago and have wanted to text you for a while now, but my good ol’ nerves got the best of me,” Baldoni allegedly texted Reynolds, adding,

“Emily and I have a very small circle. We live out in the country in [sic] and pretty much just hang out with each other. We’ve known all our closest friends for years, and I don’t really have any close female friends that my wife isn’t also friends with, let alone married ones. And so I guess this is just an awkward text to say I’d like to be friends.”

Reynolds appeared to reply, “What a loving and generous message. Thank you. We’re both looking forward to getting to know you and your family better. We’re also big fans over here. Since before we met, and more-so after.”

“You’ve been a wonderful collaborator with [sic], and that meant a great deal — to both of us,” Reynolds continued. “Being a stand-up person is everything, and you’ve been just that since day one. Thank you.”

He then told Baldoni that he “hit the backpack” with Lively, claiming, “She literally passes on every film and filmmaker all the time.”

“But I know one thing — and I speak from a deep wellspring of experience here, having her in your court behind the scenes as a creative is invaluable,” he wrote, adding, “I happen to adore you, Justin.”

Although their first conversation was cordial, things quickly took a turn when Baldoni asked about Lively’s weight. This is where Lively’s claims of body shaming come in. However, a little bit more context is needed.

Baldoni reportedly has a history of back injuries, including multiple bulging discs and chronic pain. As the story goes, he wanted to work with a personal trainer to figure out how much he needed to train his back muscles to pull off a lift sequence at a key romantic moment in the film. To do that, he needed to know how much Lively weighed and asked his personal trainer, who is also a close friend of Lively, for that information. It’s unclear why he didn’t ask Lively herself, but that is just another detail in this muddled case left to speculation.

Now, here’s where things get a bit more interesting than just a conversation about whether or not asking for her weight was inappropriate. Lively claimed that the scene never existed and there was no lift sequence planned. However, Baldoni’s legal team has provided evidence that the scene very much did exist. They have published script pages and even rehearsal footage showing that the scene was rehearsed with a stunt double before it was left on the cutting room floor.

Although any “Dancing With The Stars” alum would tell you that you need to know someone’s weight in order to pull off a proper lift, Baldoni claims that Reynolds furiously confronted him about the situation, asking, “How dare you f-cking ask about my wife’s weight? What’s wrong with you?”

As the world now knows, there was not a lift scene included in the film, but the fact that Lively insists that there was no lift scene at all when Baldoni provided proof to the contrary is an interesting development and calls many of Lively’s claims into question.

After spending way too much time on social media, I have come to the conclusion that people have very polarizing views about Ryan Reynolds. Some have even alleged that the comedian, who was previously married to Scarlett Johansson from 2008 to 2011, isn’t as nice as he wants to appear.

Reynolds responded with a tweet, writing, “I’d disagree with her. But I tried that once. The woman is unexpectedly spry. She really closed the gap after a mile or so.”

The bizarre response came off as odd to many fans, who now suspect that he might have pushed Lively to take creative control over the film. Conservative commentator Candace Owens certainly believes this might be the case, as she actually used an episode of her show “Candace,” to say that Reynolds should be “deported back to Canada.”

“Trump should deport Ryan back to Canada. This is a way for the left and the right to come together,” she said. “We can all agree the moral crimes committed by Ryan Reynolds against Justin Baldoni are high treason.”

She stated, “I’m not suggesting there was a collusion between a married couple, but I am saying that I collude with my husband because we are a married couple.”

“These WME execs, they’re going to have some tough conversations. You don’t want to believe execs at the very tippy top are being essentially threatened or bullied or coerced or extorted by a couple like Ryan and Blake or Taylor Swift,” she continued. “These Hollywood types think we are stupid. They think they just need a PR machine and the right reporter at the Hollywood Reporter.”

Owens went on to drop a juicy tidbit, stating, “Yesterday, I received a tip from someone who allegedly worked on the set of ‘It Ends With Us.’ Lately, everyone is bashing Blake Lively, but apparently, the true villain in this saga is Ryan Reynolds.”

“Here’s what I think likely happened,” she continued. “My opinion. Ryan Reynolds is grossly insecure. This, in part, motivated by the fact that he dates and [has] married women who are almost a decade younger than him.”

“Final thoughts: I think Ryan Reynolds is unhinged. I think Blake was fine with everything in the movie she signed on for (hence not requesting an intimacy coordinator), and then all that changed the day her husband showed up to set and allegedly blew a fuse,” Owens concluded.

Owens stopped just short of saying it, but she seemed to imply that Reynolds got jealous over the chemistry between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively. Did Reynolds accuse Lively, the mother of four of his children, of infidelity on set? There’s no way to know for sure, but stranger things have happened in Hollywood.

The question everyone is now asking is not only if Blake Lively lied about her claims of sexual harassment, but if Ryan Reynolds pressured her into it. Is it possible? Most definitely. The A-list couple seemed to be working together when Lively started receiving negative press for the way she marketed the film. According to Baldoni’s documents, both Lively and Reynolds “demanded” that Baldoni and his production company take accountability for the poor press she was receiving. When Baldoni refused to release a statement that Lively and Reynolds allegedly wrote together, they threatened that the “gloves will come off.”

It appears that they are doing everything in their power to make Baldoni pay for his… I don’t even know what word to use here. Crime? Is he guilty of a crime? Nothing about this story is adding up, which is probably why multiple headlines a day have been resurfacing with a new angle, a new opinion, with everyone hoping for new insight that will somehow make all of this make sense. Baldoni has shot down seemingly every claim Lively has made with evidence, such as behind-the-scenes videos from the film and alleged text messages. So why are they going after him at all, months after the movie has been released? Given that the trial is not scheduled until March 2026, how and why a lawsuit surfaced from this drama will probably be revealed in time.

However, it does beg the more serious question of how much of the harassment lawsuit came from Lively herself and how much came from Reynolds pushing for it. Lively has already lost a lot of credibility after an interview resurfaced that featured her being rude to a reporter. Denying that there was a lift scene in the movie when Baldoni can easily prove otherwise isn’t helping her case either. If Owens is correct in speculating that Reynolds pushed Lively into exaggerating claims to merit a harassment lawsuit, then the “Gossip Girl” alum has a lot bigger problems than her movie career.

And it seems doubtful her “gorgeous monster” Taylor Swift will help her out of this one.
