Jennifer Lopez was recently ridiculed for her ongoing divorce from actor Ben Affleck and the cancellation of her tour in 2024.
While appearing on CNN’s New Year’s Eve special, comedian Whitney Cummings made fun of the singer, suggesting that Americans would prefer to see her in a tumultuous relationship rather than performing in a concert.
Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck in August last year after months of their relationship being plagued by rumors of marital troubles.

Jennifer Lopez Gets Roasted By Comedian Whitney Cummings
Cummings roasted the singer while speaking to “Watch What Happens Live” host Andy Cohen.
The comedian didn’t hold back as she laid into Lopez by highlighting her marriage with Affleck, which has ended, and her tour.
Cummings jokingly remarked, as reported by the New York Post, “Let me clarify: 2024 wasn’t all bad. Despite what the media may portray, this country came together more than we think this past year.”
She added, “As a nation, we unanimously agreed that we would rather see J.Lo in a toxic relationship than in concert.”
Last March, rumors were rife that Lopez and Affleck’s marriage had hit the rocks as they hadn’t been seen in public together for weeks.

For a significant period, it appeared that the couple was too preoccupied with their individual careers; nevertheless, Lopez ultimately substantiated the speculations by initiating divorce proceedings against Affleck in August.
As reported by The Blast, the singer cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split in the divorce documents and noted that their date of separation was April 26, 2024.

The Former Couple’s Divorce Process Has Reportedly Slowed Down
One major shocker from Lopez’s divorce filing was the confirmation that she and her estranged husband had a prenuptial agreement before tying the knot.
This has reportedly caused difficulty between the ex-couple, as Affleck and Lopez mediate their divorce and attempt to split their assets fairly.
Sources told InTouch Weekly that things are getting tense months after Lopez filed to dissolve her marriage, as no agreement has been reached.
“It’s been six months since she filed and nothing has been resolved, it doesn’t seem like they’re anywhere close to finalizing the divorce,” an insider told InTouch Weekly.

The source added, “They both said they wanted to do it amicably and have even talked a good game about wanting to consciously uncouple, but that plan seems to be out the window because they can’t agree on how to divide things up, which of course is affecting things.”

Ben Affleck And Jennifer Lopez’s Marital Mansion Remains Unsold After Months On The Market
One of the major assets between Lopez and Affleck is their marital Beverly Hills mansion, which they purchased for $60.5 million in May 2023 after their marriage.
In July 2024, the duo placed the house on the market for an asking price of $68 million. Unfortunately, months after listing the property, they have yet to find a buyer.
Last October, real estate broker and the star of “Selling Sunset,” Jason Oppenheim, noted that Affleck and Lopez’s marital home is taking a while to sell their mansion due to its size.
He noted that such massive properties tend to take at least six months to find a potential buyer.
While speaking to Realtor.com, Oppenheim shared, “It would have been surprising for the house to sell in less than 100 days,” adding that “most homes of this magnitude are on the market for six months, and in many cases significantly longer.”

The Duo’s Mansion Might Stay On The Market Due To These Factors
The real estate outlet shared several factors causing a delay in the sale of the mansion, noting that expenses associated with the sale would result in a smaller pool of potential buyers.
They also revealed that people who can make such costly purchases tend to delay in hopes of a price reduction.
Another significant factor is the estimated $283,666 the homeowner would likely spend each month on taxes, security, and homeowners association dues.
Lopez and Affleck’s mansion is also competing with other luxurious properties in Los Angeles, making it more difficult to sell.
Jennifer Lopez Left Out Ben Affleck From Her 2024 Recap
After what many may consider a challenging year for Lopez, the singer took to her Instagram page to share moments from her life to close out 2024.
Lopez’s video recap featured highlights from cover shoots, performances, premiere appearances, and award shows. However, she notably left out Affleck.
Even in the segments showcasing her documentary, “This Is Me… Now: A Love Story,” Affleck was surprisingly absent, despite the project being inspired by her romance with the actor.
This move by Lopez clearly shows her readiness to leave behind the stress of her ongoing divorce and start the new year fresh.
