Criticism Towards Jason Derulo for Sharing an Offensive AI Picture of Rihanna along with Chris Brown.

The 35-year-old singer shocked fans when the bizarre post showed Chris Brown attending what was falsely labeled as Rihanna’s gender reveal party.

The caption of Jason Derulo’s post, riddled with awkward hashtags and grammatical errors, which The Blast has chosen to remove for reading purposes, reads, “Chris Brown went to Rihanna’s gender reveal party.”

The image featured Rihanna cradling a baby bump while A$AP Rocky stood by smiling, and Brown appeared to be offering her a gift, though tell-tale glitches in the background quickly revealed it was AI-generated.

The post, which has since drawn widespread criticism, sparked outrage across social media, with many calling it “evil,” “disgusting,” “inappropriate,” and “disrespectful,” especially given the deeply traumatic history between the two artists.

Rihanna and Brown’s relationship began in 2008 and came to a violent and highly publicized end in 2009 after Brown assaulted the singer on the night of the Grammy Awards. He later pleaded guilty to felony assault and was sentenced to probation. The pair briefly reconciled in 2012 but ended things for good in 2013.

Given that history, many fans were quick to condemn Derulo, or whoever manages his social accounts, for posting such a tone-deaf and offensive image.

“Oh boy, this is evil,” one user wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

Another questioned, “Was he hacked? This actually seems like the thing a hacker would do.”

Meanwhile, one user simply just asked, “What the f-ck?”

Others speculated that the post was a cynical attempt to provoke outrage or drive engagement.

“If he had posted it, it would have been removed within the hour with a half-hearted apology saying he was hacked and a new music announcement,” one user said.

Another follower didn’t mince words, writing, “Y’all, he beat her to a pulp. He ain’t there. This is AI.”

The post has also reignited conversations around AI abuse and celebrity image exploitation.

Some users speculated that Derulo may not have even seen or approved the post himself, with comments like “Celebrity Facebook pages all seem to be run by AI,” and “He sold that page to the bots, I fear.”

Someone else claimed, “Jason Derulo’s entire social media presence is fake. He also had a YouTube channel where he posted ‘reaction’ content, but people quickly realised they just kept re-using the same handful of filmed reactions he did on every single video. This guy and his whole team are clowns.”

As of now, Derulo has not publicly addressed the post, and it remains unclear whether he or a third-party social media manager was responsible for sharing the image.

The controversy has also brought renewed attention to Chris Brown’s own admissions about the violent 2009 incident. In a past interview, Brown spoke in detail about the night he assaulted then-girlfrienda, explaining that the situation escalated after he admitted to having a past sexual relationship with a woman who once worked for him.

According to Brown, the confession blindsided Rihanna, as he had previously told her there was no romantic history with the woman, an admission that reportedly led to mounting tension between the couple.
