The Dexter world is expanding, with Dexter: Resurrection leading the way for the notorious fictional serial killer’s comeback.
Michael C. Hall portrayed Dexter from 2006 to 2013. He reprised the role in the 2021 spinoff New Blood, which concluded after a year. Dexter: Resurrection acts as a follow-up series, raising questions on Hall’s return as Dexter, considering his character’s demise on multiple occasions.
Excitement brews as Hall shared insights with Entertainment Weekly in August 2024 regarding the franchise’s upcoming developments. Despite the uncertainties, he eagerly anticipates revisiting the character and exploring new creative avenues.

What Is the Vision for the New Series?
Hall previously said he was excited to have more of a reference for his character thanks to Dexter: Resurrection.
“The scripts they’ve executed are fantastic. I can’t wait, like, as a fan, to watch it, and as an actor to spend time seeing real footage of things that I’ve sort of tried to imagine for myself when I imagine what Dexter’s early days [were like],” he teased to EW in August 2024. “Now I’m going to have this technicolor version of his memories to refer to. I think it will help inform my experience of whatever comes next in the other series, which I can only speak vaguely about at this point. It’s pretty heady. It’s so gratifying.”
