Influencer Sidney Raz opened up about his own health journey after his unborn daughter died in utero.
In April 2025, Raz, whose real name is Sidney Raskind, shared a video on Instagram where he disclosed that he and his wife, Kelsey, had undergone genetic testing following the loss of their baby to a rare birth defect known as holoprosencephaly in September 2024.
He mentioned in the video that their daughter had a deletion and further testing revealed that while Kelsey did not have the deletion, he did. This deletion has been linked to certain types of cancer, particularly stomach cancer.
He added: “I scheduled an endoscopy and … today I found out that I have stomach cancer.”

Though Raz is recognized as an influencer in Los Angeles on social media, he originally hails from the East Coast. In January 2024, he and Kelsey departed from their Richmond residence to embark on a journey to California.
2. He’s an Original Influencer
Raz found fame on TikTok in September 2019, but he had been focusing on a social media career for years, posting on Vine, YouTube and Instagram before going viral. He has since racked up over 4.5 million followers on TikTok.
3. He’s an Author
Because of the success of his “life hack” comedy sketches on TikTok, Raz was able to write a self-help book of his own. Life Hacks, Tips and Tricks, which was published in August 2024, features over 200 shortcuts and tricks to help readers.
“When Sid hit 30, he realized there was so much advice no one had ever bothered to tell him,” the book’s summary reads. “So Sid went on a mission to make his life as easy as humanly possible.”
4. He Is a Father
Raz and his wife welcomed daughter Zelda in 2023.
“It’s such a crazy thing because now I’m a dad,” he said during a July 2024 podcast appearance. “But she’s incredible. There’s a little baby picture of her up there, she’s so tiny.”
During the same interview, Raz explained that he doesn’t put his family life on social media because he “made the decision to constantly be on camera” but not everyone in his life did.
5. He Was Diagnosed With Stomach Cancer
Raz started to share details of his health journey after going public with his diagnosis in April 2025.
“There were no symptoms, I had no symptoms,” he explained in an Instagram video at the time. “It was literally just my daughter’s DNA that saved my life. And now there can be a path forward.”
