For fans of Harry Potter who are still hopeful about the possibility of receiving a Hogwarts acceptance letter, the dream may not come true. However, they can experience a taste of what it would be like to spend time with Harry, Ron, and Hermione in Hogsmeade during Butterbeer Season.
From now until the end of May, Pepperidge Farm is selling butterbeer-flavored Goldfish — and Us Weekly had to get our hands on the new snack.
“It’s giving Teddy Graham more so than Goldfish,” remarked Sarah Hearon, a Sytherin and the Digital Deputy Editor in the latest issue of Us Weekly‘s We Tried It segment.
Senior writer Shelby Stivale, a Gryffindor, agreed that the butterbeer flavor is “not as heavy” as she expected.
As it turns out, it’s more than just Goldfish getting in on the Harry Potter magic.
Those seeking a richer treat may enjoy Keebler’s limited-edition Harry Potter Butterbeer Fudge Stripes Cookies, which offer a sweeter experience compared to the crackers. Additionally, Hershey’s is offering butterbeer-flavored candy with a creamy filling for those craving an extra dose of butterscotch – though it’s worth noting that the flavor is quite intense. Sarah herself confessed, “I don’t love it,” although opinions among several Us Weekly staffers in the New York City office varied.
Rounding out the butterbeer-flavored products is Skinnypop Kettle Popcorn, which gives more caramel than butterscotch, and an array of beauty supplies like Harry Potter x Orly Butterbeer Scented Nourishing Cuticle Oil. (We tried that too and encourage you to commit to the scent before you use it!)
“If you’re more of a white chocolate fan, I would go with the cookie, for sure, and then if you don’t like chocolate at all, then the popcorn is perfect for you,” Shelby concluded.
