According to The Mirror, the Locomotion songbird is ready to leave London, where she has lived for 30 years, and set up a base in Melbourne to be closer to family and friends. It also follows Minogue’s recent eight-month stay in Camberwell with her parents, Ron and Carol, and frequent visits to sister, Dannii, and her son, and brother Brendan, and his son. “This is something she has been thinking about for a while,” a source told The Mirror.“This year, when she was in Australia for an extended period due to travel restrictions, it gave her time to think about where she wants to be based.”The source said Minogue’s home visit gave her “a lot of time to think about the future.”“She wants to see more of her family in the times when she isn’t travelling,” the source said. “So she will use Australia as her base.”Kylie’s homecoming plan comes amid of period of reset — and real estate rewards — for Minogue and her family. Last month, Kylie quietly sold the Cambridge St, Armadale home she’s owned for more than 30 years in a seven-figure deal.Minogue offloaded the property for $1.715m.She bought the pad for $185,000 in 1990.The Minogue family also listed a $20m Hawthorn office property where Ron Minogue worked as an accountant. It was also the headquarters for KDB Pty Ltd, which Ron used to invest for his family. The site at 108 and 110 Church St was bought for $12.5m in 2007.In June, Dannii bought a Hawthorn East house priced at $3.2m for an undisclosed sum.Kylie has a number of companies in Australia including KDB Holdings, which owns properties in Canterbury, Balwyn and Richmond.Last year, while in London, Minogue told Allure Magazine the pandemic had forced her to think about life’s priorities. “I, like so many people, had the time to reflect and perhaps understand myself and what’s really important,” she said.“I feel almost guilty that I’ve been able to keep working and create when there are just so many stories of people not being able to stay afloat. “I don’t wish anything for myself,” she added. “I want it to be better for all people.”Soon after, she told ABC-TV’s 7.30 Report: “I am so grateful to be well, but I have never felt further from home, or my family.”However, Kylie also told a podcast her boyfriend, GQ magazine creative director Paul Solomons, wouldn’t want to live Down Under.“There’s just not going to be an Australian home,” she sighed.Minogue’s record company, Mushroom, and management team, CAA, had no comment on The Mirror’s report.
