Olivia Munn And John Mulaney’s Relationship Journey And Growing Family
Mulaney and Munn’s relationship began in May 2021, shortly after the “Big Mouth” star completed a stint in rehab for drug and alcohol issues.
In an interview with GQ Magazine, Munn revealed that she “barely knew” Mulaney when she discovered she was pregnant with their son, Malcolm, in 2021.
Reflecting on their relationship at the time, she admitted, “It wasn’t anything close to ‘dating.”
The “Predator” actress shared that while Mulaney was thrilled when she told him about the pregnancy, they hadn’t yet planned for marriage or cohabitation.
Initially, Munn expected they would co-parent from different coasts, but their connection deepened with the “SNL” star visiting during the pregnancy.

The Actor Shared Sweet Moments Spent With His Daughter Méi
On December 16, at the premiere of his show “All In: Comedy About Love” in New York City, Mulaney shared a sweet moment from his daughter Méi’s three-month milestone.
He explained to People how they celebrated with a playful activity: “We had some crinkly paper that had black and white on it, which is a really good contrast to 3-month-old eyes, put her hand on it, and then she was playing with it herself.”
The comedian also expressed his love for spending time with his daughter, even finding moments to style her for events.
“I got home from the show last night at about 11 p.m., and [the] good thing about a 3-month-old is she’s up,” he said. “So I held her for a couple of hours, and then this morning we put a bow on her head. She had no choice.”
Olivia Munn Had A Double Mastectomy
Mulaney and Munn’s marriage came four months after the “Mortdecai” actress announced that she received a “terrifying” breast cancer diagnosis last year after tests revealed she had luminal B in both breasts.
The actress subsequently had to undergo four surgeries, a double mastectomy, and a medically induced menopause.
“I was not someone who obsessed over death or was afraid of it in any way,” she told People Magazine at the time. “But having a little baby at home made everything much more terrifying.”
“You realize cancer doesn’t care who you are; it doesn’t care if you have a baby or if you don’t have time,” she shared. “It comes at you, and you have no choice but to face it head-on.”

John Mulaney Supported The Actress Through Her Cancer Battle
Munn also praised Mulaney for his support during her cancer battle, noting he made it easier to deal with.
“It would’ve felt like climbing an iceberg without him,” she told People. “I don’t think he had a moment to himself, between being an incredibly hands-on father and going to and from the hospital— taking Malcolm to the park, putting him to nap, driving to Cedars-Sinai, hanging out with me, going home, putting Malcolm to bed, coming back to me. And he did it all happily.”
Munn added, “It’s the best except when you’re just out of surgery, and it hurts to move or even laugh. I made him leave the room a few times because he would make me laugh too hard.”
