Kristen Bell is concluding 2024 with a generous charitable act, making a significant donation to help individuals struggling with medical expenses.
The actress, best known for her role as Anna in “Frozen,” connected with Instagram influencer Tommy Marcus (also known as Quentin Quarantino) after he reached out to her via direct message about supporting those affected by the healthcare system’s shortcomings.
Initially, Tommy Marcus suggested Kristen Bell share a health-related GoFundMe campaign to raise awareness and funds for someone in need, and while he emphasized there was no pressure for her involvement, she eagerly embraced the idea and chose to go above and beyond.

Kristen Bell Ends 2024 With An Incredible Charitable Act
In messages shared by Marcus, the “Nobody Wants This” star expressed her desire to do more and committed to donating $100,000 toward medical bills. She emphasized the importance of ensuring the funds reached those who truly needed assistance.
Marcus then proposed that Bell close out each fundraiser on his Instagram page once it reached the halfway mark—a suggestion Bell enthusiastically supported. Bell made good on her commitment, contributing over $20,000 to help a third-grade girl battling leukemia and nearly $25,000 to a patient named Murilo, who is also facing the same cancer. This is just the beginning of Bell’s charitable efforts.
“Something needs to be done, and this is my something,” Bell told People Magazine of their decision.

Marcus Shares Screenshots Of His Convo With Kristen Bell
Marcus acknowledged that “on a certain level it sucks that we have to do this” as they “should not have to raise and give money in order for Americans to receive life saving medical treatment, but sadly, this is the reality.”
“We can’t let people do this on their own when so many of us can help,” he added. “Until we can change the system, this is the reality. And we can be the helpers. And luckily, we also have so many people, like Kristen, and all of YOU who are willing to lend their hand in such an incredibly generous way.”
He also spoke to People Magazine about the act, telling the outlet that he first reached out to Kristen Bell “with the meager hope she might share one of my fundraising posts, like she frequently does.”

“I never imagined she’d respond with a $100,000 pledge to help me and the QQ community achieve change—that she’d respond not with a quick answer, but a real question: How can we use this money to do good?” he added.

Tommy Marcus Opens Up About Charity
Having raised more than $30 million for charity, Marcus says that this is a question many people commonly ask.
“I think that’s a question on a lot of people’s minds. Certainly, it is for my audience, who have proven themselves, again and again, to be the most charitable community in social media history,” he said. “As individuals, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But together—there’s power in that.”
Marcus continued, “I’m excited to have the opportunity to combine sizable individual donations with the grassroots funding my community is known for and confident our momentum will continue to grow, protect the vulnerable, and return to everyday Americans a sense of agency and hope.”
