Scheana Shay and Lisa Vanderpump don’t seem to be as close as they once were — and Kristen Doute says she knows exactly why.
During the podcast episode of “The Bitch Bible” on Tuesday, April 22, Doute, who is 42 years old, suggested that there is a noticeable gap between Shay, aged 39, and Vanderpump, who is 64. Doute pointed out, “Look at all the girls now coming out who have been waiting to not be on any show with [Vanderpump]. Scheana, Katie [Maloney].”
Doute was asked to elaborate, which is when she mentioned Shay’s upcoming My Good Side memoir.
Hinting at potential revelations, the star of The Valley mentioned, “When Scheana’s book is released, she mentioned to me that there’s a lot of juicy details about Lisa in there that the world would find interesting.” She added, “So I believe she’s now at the lowest point — she’s like the residue stuck to the bottom of Lisa’s shoe.”
Shay and Vanderpump have sparked speculation about where they stand in the aftermath of the Vanderpump Rules cast overhaul for season 12.
In a recent interview earlier this month, Shay commented on her present relationship with Vanderpump, who is also 64 years old. She shared on the “Two T’s With a Pod” podcast, “I don’t have frequent conversations with her. She usually reaches out when she needs something.”
Shay noted that her last interaction with Vanderpump was business-related. “That was recent when I talked to her,” she added. “She had a question about a friend of mine on another show of hers, and that was pretty much it.”
Vanderpump, meanwhile, also revealed where she stands with the cast.
“I do love them all regardless of their antics and their foibles. There’s a deep love just because of what we’ve been through together and seeing them at such a young age, even though they’ve been very frustrating at times, for sure, and they’ve made mistakes,” Vanderpump said on Bravo’s “Hot Mic” podcast at the time. “But, it was predictable.”
The restaurateur got a call “straight away” from Tom Schwartz after it was confirmed that season 12 of the hit Bravo series won’t feature any of the OG cast members. “He said, ‘I just want to thank you for all the opportunities you’ve given me.’ And James [Kennedy], too,” she noted. “Lala [Kent], I’ve always been very close to her.”
Vanderpump went on to name the former cast members who didn’t contact her, adding, “I think Ariana [Madix] texted me or tweeted me or something. Katie, I didn’t hear from. But, as I say, that doesn’t really surprise me. It’s strange because I’m not saying they should be grateful to me — but they should be grateful for the show. We always celebrated them. But that show gave them a plethora of opportunities they wouldn’t necessarily have had.”
In Us Weekly‘s recent cover story with Vanderpump, she elaborated on the distance between her and Shay.
“I haven’t spoken to Scheana but she almost grew up with me. She was at Villa Blanca for quite a few years. They’re all doing OK and I think Scheana is doing OK. Thankfully she’s got somebody loyal by her side [husband Brock Davies] because she had a hell of a roller coaster with different relationships,” she explained. “I heard that she was on The Masked Singer, which is something that I know she would love because she talked about being on Dancing With the Stars.”
Vanderpump pointed out that she “can’t talk” to everyone from the show “all the time.”
“Remember, I have 700 people that work for me,” she added. “As long as they know I’m always there if they need me.”
