Lil Durk In More Legal Trouble After New Wrongful Death Lawsuit

Lil Durk has another legal issue to deal with as the mother of the man who died in a murder-for-hire case he is facing trial for has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against him.

The rapper’s troubles with the law began in October 2024 after federal authorities arrested him on a conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire charge.

That same month, Lil Durk was hit with a wrongful death lawsuit after FGB Duck’s mother sued him and King Von’s estate for Duck’s murder.

Andrea Robinson, the mother of Quando Rondo’s late cousin Saviay’a Robinson, also known as Lil PAB, has brought forth a wrongful death lawsuit against Durk.

According to Chicago Sun-Times, Andrea filed the lawsuit in Cook County Court in Chicago this month.

In it, she claimed Saviay’a was killed in the “targeted attack” in Los Angeles on August 19, 2022.

She named Durk, his business manager, his record label, Only The Family, and a related company as those responsible for her son’s death.

Saviay’a was gunned down during an alleged attempt on Rondo’s life, with Durk accused of masterminding the attack.

Lil Durk, whose real name is Durk Banks, encountered legal problems in October 2024 when he was arrested in Florida while trying to board a private jet bound for Italy.

This came shortly after federal authorities unsealed an indictment charging him in a murder-for-hire scheme linked to the 2022 shooting targeting rapper Rondo, but which led to Saviay’a’s death.

The charges stem from a violent plot allegedly orchestrated by Durk in retaliation for the killing of his protege, King Von.

The federal indictment revealed that Durk, through his record label, Only the Family (OTF), not only encouraged violent actions but also offered rewards, including cash and music opportunities, for those involved in the murder plot.

Durk allegedly coordinated the shooting by using a private jet, ensuring his actions wouldn’t leave a paper trail.

Five co-defendants were arrested, and prosecutors claim the group tracked, stalked, and attempted to kill Rondo in Los Angeles, leading to Saviay’a’s tragic death.

The Other Murders Lil Durk Is Linked To

Lil Durk’s legal troubles have deepened as he faces multiple wrongful death lawsuits. In addition to the ongoing case related to Saviay’a’s 2022 murder, Durk is connected to other violent incidents.

In October, FBG Duck’s mother filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Durk and King Von’s estate, accusing them of involvement in Duck’s shooting. Six men with alleged ties to Durk’s OTF label were convicted for the killing, which took place in Chicago’s Gold Coast area.

Furthermore, in December, Durk was linked to a second murder in a federal indictment.

While he has not been formally charged, police believe Durk may have had a role in the death of Stephon Mack, who was killed in January 2022.

Mack, believed to be the leader of the Smashville faction of the Gangster Disciples, was fatally shot after leaving a youth center in Chicago.

Authorities suspect Mack’s group was involved in the 2021 killing of Durk’s brother, Dontay “OTF DThang” Banks. Though no charges have been filed against Durk in this case, the connection adds to the mounting legal concerns surrounding the rapper.

Durk Wins Grammy Award

Lil Durk has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.

His trial, which was previously slated to begin in January, was rescheduled to October 14. He could face a life sentence if convicted of the crimes.

This represents a fall from grace for Durk, who won a Grammy Award for Best Melodic Rap Performance at the 2024 Grammys for his song “All My Life,” featuring J. Cole.

The rapper won over other nominated artists including Doja Cat (“Attention”), Drake and 21 Savage (“Spin Bout U”) Burna Boy and 21 Savage (“Sittin’ on Top of the World”), and SZA (“Low”).

It marked Durk’s first Grammy win and proved he was one to watch out for in the rap world. However, his future remains in doubt except he is proven innocent in the murder-for-hire case.
