Earlier in the week, Lil’ Kim prayed for a monsoon in LA amid the raging inferno troubling the city but some bewildered fans slammed her.

However, the renowned female rapper took it upon herself to school her critics about monsoons, even going as far as sharing a definition of the term.

On Tuesday, Lil’ Kim shared her concerns about the devastating wildfires ravaging Los Angeles.

On social media platform X, she shared a post conveying her concern for those impacted by the fires and her hopes for relief, saying, “I have been fervently praying for LA and all the individuals affected by the fires. It is a tragic situation. I hope that God will send heavy rain to LA.”

While a minority of her followers appreciated her sentiments, a significant number questioned her rationale for wishing for additional catastrophic weather conditions in a region already dealing with wildfires.

Some displeased fans called out Lil’ Kim, claiming that her use of monsoon was wrong.

One fan wrote, “That’s not the best answer maybe…” A second X user added, “Make it monsoon? A disaster on top of the existing disaster? No ma’am.”

A third person shared a gif of two ladies trying so hard not to laugh alongside the caption, “ending one natural disaster with another one is crazy.”

Meanwhile, another person posted, “California going through one of the worst droughts ever recorded in American history and you think they’re gonna get a monsoon.”

Lil’ Kim Responds To Backlash

As the backlash against her continued, Lil’ Kim returned to X and addressed the negative comments that trailed her prayer for LA.

She posted, “What’s happening is devastating and what LA really needs right now is rain—so what’s the issue? Doesn’t everyone understand that a monsoon is heavy rain?”

The 50-year-old rapper went on to express delight that people were being “positive” despite the tragedy that befell California.

She wrote, “I’m so happy to see that everyone is staying so positive during such a tragic situation. Let’s keep praying and supporting everyone that has been affected by this.”

Despite Lil’ Kim’s attempts to explain herself, she received more criticism from some fans, who let her know the adverse effects of a monsoon.

One such fan wrote, “We know what you mean but heavy rain would cause mudslides, flooding, high winds, or more damage.”

A second person added that a monsoon wouldn’t make any sense as people wouldn’t have anywhere to go. They also beckoned on the “Lighters Up” crooner to “delete this post.”

A third who seemingly gave Lil’ Kim the benefit of the doubt, wrote, “Sister we knew you know. You had pure intentions! A monsoon isn’t the answer though.”

Another person added pleaded with the rapper to “do some research” because a monsoon would make the already terrible situation worse.

Meanwhile, a fifth fan introduced a bit of history to explain to Lil’ Kim why a monsoon wasn’t the best idea. They shared a video showing cars covered in debris and mudslides due to heavy rainfall.

They wrote in the caption, “Respectfully Mrs. Lil. Last time we had heavy rain in that exact area where the fire happened this occurred. Mind you now with the fire more debris in the streets would make it even more of a disaster. Not to mention the dirt loosen up with the fire so yea .. no thank you.”

Despite the education she got from fans, Lil’ Kim maintained her stance that a monsoon was needed in LA.

She shared a screenshot from the web showing a definition of monsoon. It read, ” A monsoon is a seasonal shift in wind direction that can cause extreme wet or dry weather.”

It continued, “Monsoons are often associated with tropical regions, but can occur in other parts of the world, including North America.”

She also shared a screenshot on her Instagram Stories showing comments from fans who seemingly understood her and wondered why people were trolling her.
