Allen recently shared a nostalgic moment on Instagram, posting a throwback clip with her best friend and podcast co-host, Miquita Oliver.

During an episode of the “Miss Me?” podcast, Allen reminisced about her time being managed by Elton John. She revealed that John used to check in on her every few weeks to see how she was doing, especially during tough times when she was not feeling well.

Reflecting on the closure of their working relationship, the 39-year-old artist shared that they eventually went their separate ways. Allen expressed her sadness about the situation by writing a heartfelt letter, acknowledging the void that was left in her life after their professional paths diverged.

As her personal struggles worsened, the “Smile” singer admitted: “Over the next few years, as my life began to sort of spiral out of control, I held much resentment for the fact that I’d made myself very vulnerable in this letter and told him all about my sobriety and I was quite cross with him for a few years.”

Oliver asked if the resentment stemmed from the “Rocketman” singer not replying, to which Allen laughed and confessed, “I thought it was mean of him actually, and then when I moved here to America, I was unpacking, and I found the letter. I never sent it [laughs].”

Ending on a light note, Allen added, “Elton, if you’re listening, which you’re probably not, I love you, and I no longer harbor that resentment towards you.”

In 2008, Allen and John had a fiery on-stage clash at the GQ Men of the Year Awards at London’s Royal Opera House. As co-hosts for the evening, the duo’s playful banter quickly escalated into a tense exchange, surprising the celebrity audience.

Dressed in a lavish Dolce & Gabbana ballgown with glittering Chopard jewelry, Allen openly sipped champagne throughout the event.

According to the Daily Mail, Allen began slurring, swearing, and improvising her lines as the night progressed.

When introducing Carol Vorderman, Allen peppered her speech with expletives, dropping “F-ck” multiple times, which led John to interrupt her.

As Allen announced, “And now, the most important part of the night,” John quipped, “What? Are you going to have another drink?” Without missing a beat, she shot back, “F-ck off, Elton. I am 40 years younger than you and have my whole life ahead of  me!”

John, clearly irritated, retorted, “I could still snort you under the table.” Allen, unfazed, responded with a simple, “F-ck off. I don’t know what you are talking about.”

Previously, Allen opened up on her podcast about her struggles with mental health and disordered eating, revealing that she’s been in therapy to process her emotions after moving to New York with her daughters, Ethel, 13, and Marnie, 11, along with her husband, David Harbour.

Speaking on the “Miss Me?” podcast, Allen confessed that mental health challenges have affected her appetite. She admitted she hasn’t been eating properly and rarely feels hungry.

“I’ve been going through a tough time over the last few months, and my eating has become an issue,” she said. “My therapist and I talk about it, and she says, ‘How long has this been going on?’ And I said, ‘Well, about three years, really.’ And she’s like, ‘OK, why haven’t you mentioned it before?'”

Allen described feeling mentally disconnected from her body, explaining, “I’m not hungry. I obviously am hungry, but my body and brain are so disconnected from each other that my body… the messages of hunger are not going through my body to my brain.”

“I’m not avoiding food, I’m just not thinking about it because I’m so in my head,” the singer continued, per the Daily Mail. “My body’s, like, a few steps behind me.”

Earlier this year, Allen opened up about her decision to relocate her two daughters to the U.S.

She reflected on the differences between British and American attitudes, particularly during awards season. She noted how expressive Americans are compared to “stush” Brits.

“One of the reasons I moved here is because I feel like it’s a much more encouraging environment in which my children can thrive,” Allen explained.

She recalled pursuing acting for the first time despite no theater experience.

“When I would tell Americans about it, they’d be like: ‘Oh my God, that’s so exciting! You’re gonna learn so much, you’re gonna kill it!'” the singer shared.

She added: “And then when I’d tell English people about it, they’d be like: ‘A play? Have you ever done that before? Aren’t you scared?'” Allen highlighted the contrast, adding, “Culturally, we’re just very different.”

Allen made a significant lifestyle change in 2011 after being known as a famous pop girl when she moved to the countryside and started a family.

Reflecting on her career, she admitted in March that becoming a mother had a major impact on her pop career, as she chose to focus on her children rather than her work.

Speaking on the Radio Times Podcast, the singer-turned-actress shared her belief that women often face a choice between prioritizing their career or their kids, and for her, the decision was clear.

“My children ruined my career. I love them, and they complete me, but in terms of pop stardom, they totally ruined it,” Allen confessed. “I get really annoyed when people say you can have it all because, quite frankly, you can’t.”
