Lizzo flaunts amazing weight loss in strapless red dress at glamorous event

Lizzo showed off her slimmed-down physique in a strapless red gown as she attended the 11th Breakthrough Prize Ceremony on Saturday.

Lizzo, the musician who has been actively working to lose weight, successfully reached her target weight and has been proudly sharing her transformation on social media.

Lizzo has, however, been plagued with allegations that she used the miracle drug Ozempic to lose weight, causing her fitness trainer to speak out.

She captured everyone’s attention when she appeared on the red carpet at the esteemed Breakthrough Prize Ceremony in Barker Hanger, Santa Monica, last weekend.

During the event, the Grammy award-winning artist stole the spotlight with her stunning appearance in a strapless red dress that highlighted her slimmer figure. The gown featured intricate ruching and pleating on the long skirt, adding to her glamorous look.

She also rocked a pair of long coordinated gloves, which featured very long red nails on the ends and styled her dark hair to look wet.

Lizzo completed the look with a dramatic palette of makeup that had red eye shadow, heavy blush, and a swipe of matching lipstick.

The “About Damn Time” rapper has notably been showing off her weight loss progress on social media after embarking on an “intentional weight loss journey” since late 2023.

Earlier this month, she attended Vanity Fair’s Oscars party in Hollywood with her boyfriend, Myke Wright, and flaunted her slimmed-down shape in a figure-hugging black gown with a fitted bodice.

However, a source told the Daily Mail that her body transformation is causing concern amongst her loved ones because it feels like a “contradiction” after she spent the early part of her career sharing the “bigger is beautiful” message.

“Lizzo has lost a significant amount of weight, and it’s causing concern among those close to her,” the insider shared. “She built her brand around the message bigger is beautiful and was so outspoken about how she feels about it.”

“She was such an inspiration to so many bigger women. But now that she is so determined to slim down and be gorgeous, which feels like a contradiction to who she was and what she has always stood for,” they added.

Lizzo’s weight loss progress has not come without criticism, as she’s been accused of turning to the celebrity miracle drug Ozempic to help her journey.

However, her fitness trainer, Shaun T, recently weighed in on the speculations, calling for “people to mind your business.”

“The accusations are wildly annoying,” Shaun T told TMZ. “I think that generally, people think because now something is available and popular, they’re not going to give people props. People would rather hate before they give people props.”

“I have trained Lizzo. Like, I have worked out with her, I have danced with her. Lizzo is very fit,” he emphasized. “People think, like, just because someone’s like a quote-unquote plus size person there, they’re not fit.”

Shaun also said Lizzo had done his infamous “Insanity” program as he vouched for pop singer Meghan Trainor, noting she and her husband, “Spy Kids” star Daryl Sabara, had lost weight with his T25 program.

“That’s the first thing I’d say: so don’t automatically assume that just because a celebrity or anybody’s losing weight that they’re on Ozempic,” Shaun said. “The second thing I want to say, which is absolutely important, is for people to mind your business.”

“Because the people who are actually talking about, ‘Oh my gosh, that person’s using Ozempic,’ you’re probably not even working out. And the people who are working out, most of them are like, ‘Cool, if they are using Ozempic, I hope that they’re eating healthy,’ or something like that,” he added.

The 36-year-old rapper has also had to defend herself from the allegations that she used ozempic to slim down, instead insisting that she has undertaken a “methodical” approach to shedding the pounds, including “months of weight training” and “living in a calorie deficit thanks to a high-protein, veggie-based diet.”

“When you finally get Ozempic allegations after 5 months of weight training and calorie deficit,” she wrote on Instagram back in September.

Earlier this year, she publicly revealed that she’d achieved her goal weight as her weight loss app showed that she lowered her body mass index (BMI) by 10.5 and lost 16% of her body fat.

“I did it. Today when I stepped on my scale, I reached my weight release goal,” Lizzo said, per The Blast. “I haven’t seen this number since 2014! Let this be a reminder you can do anything you put your mind to. Time for new goals!”
