Ally Lewber Says LVP Called to Check in 2 Months After James Kennedy Split

Vanderpump Rules alum Ally Lewber is opening up about her interactions with Lisa Vanderpump after breaking up with James Kennedy.

During the April 9 episode of “The Viall Files” podcast, Lewber, 29, shared that despite the troubled past with her ex-boyfriend, Kennedy, she received a call from his mom months later checking up on her well-being. She mentioned Kennedy’s mom’s protective nature towards him and how she now understands and appreciates it.

At first, Lewber found Kennedy’s mom’s motherly stance towards him odd but later realized the depth of their relationship and the care his mom has for him. The call from Kennedy’s mom showed concern for Lewber and how protective she is of her son.

In 2022, Lewber and Kennedy, 33, started dating following his split from Rachel “Raquel” Leviss. Their relationship took a turn in December 2024 when an argument at a holiday party resulted in Kennedy’s arrest for misdemeanor domestic violence. Lewber clarified that despite the altercation, she was not physically harmed, and she chose not to press any charges against Kennedy.

Lisa Vanderpump is breaking her silence on James Kennedy‘s domestic violence incident with Ally Lewber. “I have spoken to James and to Ally at great length,” Vanderpump, 64, told Us Weekly exclusively at Jason Felts‘ Hollywood Virgin book launch party at The Abbey in West Hollywood on Wednesday, February 5, benefiting the Los Angeles Fire […]

Kennedy was released from police custody within hours before releasing a statement on the incident. The charges have since been dropped.

“I am committed to making meaningful changes in my life,” he wrote via Instagram Story at the time. “I am taking time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth, and being present for my loved ones. Navigating challenging moments is not easy but I am determined to learn, grow and move forward with the incredible support system around me.”

According to Lewber, Vanderpump, 64, eventually reached out in support of Kennedy’s recovery. (Kennedy relapsed in 2024 but is now reportedly sober again and regularly attends AA meetings.)

“She was basically, like, ‘Ally, he needs you. You’re really good together,’” Lewber claimed. “She was like, ‘You should go travel with him to his shows this weekend.’ I [had] just moved into an apartment, we’re not together. It was really weird … [and] I was weak in the moment. I was like, ‘Did I make the wrong decision?’”

Vanderpump Rules alum James Kennedy found love with Ally Lewber three months after his split from Rachel “Raquel” Leviss. The England native met Lewber, an entertainment journalist, that January following his split from Leviss. “I’m, kind of, seeing someone,” Kennedy revealed during a February 2022 episode of Lala Kent’s “Give Them Lala” podcast. “Look, it’s […]

Lewber further admitted that she “doesn’t know why” Vanderpump appeared to play matchmaker for the exes.

“It was a lot of, like, ‘Well, you were drinking too,’” Lewber said, adding that she’s “not afraid” of the restaurateur. “I’m not scared of her because what would she do? But, there is still a part of me [who] respects her in some way, which maybe I shouldn’t.”

She continued, “It felt like, ‘You guys are young. This is what happens when people drink. Ken [Todd, Lisa’s husband] was also a playboy and naughty when we were younger, and I had to whip him into shape.’ It was of that era of [being] a little misogynistic.”

According to Lewber, Vanderpump also told her that she would “kiss a lot of frogs” over the years — and probably even marry one — before ever finding her so-called prince.

“I was, like, ‘That’s so depressingly sad,’” Lewber recalled. “I don’t want to marry a frog. … I feel like that call goes so deep, and that cast goes so deep. I can see clearly more than everyone else [since I was a late arrival].”

While Lewber stressed that she wanted to end up with a prince instead of a frog, she’s not ready to start dating again.

“I’m not dating right now,” she said, saying it was “scary” to put herself out there. “I think I, obviously, have a lot of healing to do.”

Vanderpump has not publicly addressed Lewber’s claims. Us Weekly has reached out for comment.
