Meghan Markle is celebrating Mother’s Day in the U.K. by revealing a cherished family tradition.
On Sunday, March 30, Meghan posted a picture of a lemon cake on Instagram with the message, “Our family tradition. Mothering Sunday in the UK 🍋.” In the image, a small child’s hand can be spotted, possibly belonging to either her 5-year-old son Archie or 3-year-old daughter Lilibet.
Lately, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, has been giving a closer look into her life with Prince Harry, 40, and their kids. Just last Monday, March 24, she uploaded a new photo featuring both children from the back — one of the most intimate glimpses of her kids she has shared so far. Alongside the photo, Meghan, 43, wrote, “Every day is a love story 🕊️.”
In the photo, Archie is seen holding onto Meghan’s leg while she carries Lilibet, who is wearing a wide-brim straw hat.
In May 2018, Meghan and Harry tied the knot after first meeting in July 2016. Following their wedding, a statement from Kensington Palace expressed the couple’s gratitude to everyone who joined in the celebrations. They expressed their appreciation for being able to share their special day with all those present in Windsor and those who watched on TV in the UK, Commonwealth, and around the globe.
A month later, a source told Us Weekly that the pair were prioritizing having children soon after their wedding. “Having children is definitely a priority,” a source close to the pair said. “She and Harry want to start a family right away — and she’ll start trying as soon as she can.”
A second royal insider dished, “Harry and Meghan won’t rush into anything. They have a lot on their plate right now. But they both think that when the moment feels right, that will be the time to go for it. They’ll make fantastic parents.”
In October 2018, another source told Us that the pair were “trying for a big family” and hoped to have three kids. Kensington Palace confirmed the pair were expecting their first child together in the same month.
“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019,” the statement read. “Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”
