Ivanka Trump claims her children are 'brutal' when comparing her to husband Jared Kushner

Ivanka Trump has admitted that her three children can be ‘brutal’ when comparing her to their father, Jared Kushner.

On a recent episode of The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast, Ivanka Trump, the 43-year-old daughter of soon-to-be President Donald Trump, discussed various topics like parenting and success in a rare public appearance.

Ivanka and her husband, who tied the knot in 2009, are parents to three children: Arabella Rose (13), Joseph Frederick (11), and Theodore James (8).

The family resides primarily in Miami, Florida.

But just because she has the last name of Trump doesn’t mean that she’s exempt from normal parenting struggles.

In the podcast, Ivanka shared that her children sometimes compare her cooking to that of her husband’s since she is the one who prepares breakfast for them every morning.

‘I should’ve said that Jared cooks the most successful breakfast, he makes pancakes,’ the shoe designer revealed. ‘Really great pancakes, like every other morning.’

‘I tried to make French Toast the other day, and I’m actually a decent cook, but because he was traveling – I don’t know if you’re experiencing this yet – [the kids] can be brutal to me when I don’t do something as well as their father,’ she admitted.

‘So my kids just looked at my [attempt], I tried to make this French Toast and I was getting my son’s lunch ready, I forgot about it, it burnt, and I heard for the next twenty minutes how my French toast will never compete with their dad’s pancakes,’ she said, adding that it was ‘so unfair.’

The heiress even revealed that she had a ‘debate’ with her kids about the French toast including how long it should be soaked in the egg and milk mixture, as you don’t want to make it too soggy.

Since having her three children, Ivanka has shared snaps of herself and her family on her Instagram page, offering a behind-the-scenes look into her life.

And, just a few days after the mogul turned 43 on October 30, she shared her top life tips that she had learned so far – with her number one pointer having to do with family and friends.

‘Family and friends are everything. Nourish these relationships, check in, and let people know you care,’ she wrote. ‘As Esther Perel says, “The quality of your relationships determines the quality of your life.”‘

During the podcast appearance, Ivanka also offered a look into how her two parents, Donald and Ivana Trump, raised her, and what they taught her.

Ivanka reminisced about the time spent with her late mom at New York’s Plaza Hotel, where she served as the CEO.

‘I used to go to her everyday after school, she was the CEO of the Plaza Hotel, the iconic hotel in New York, and I’d go with her on walks, and it was literally like a more well-behaved Eloise at the Plaza,’ Ivanka revealed.

‘I’d run behind her and watch her do her thing. My father was the same.’

However, she admitted that there was one thing she feels like her parents didn’t show her when she was young.

‘There was never explicit instruction,’ Ivanka shared. ‘I kind of wish I’d gotten a little bit of that, sort of sitting me down and saying, “This is how I like to be, this is how I conduct myself, did you notice this?”‘

‘It was purely observational,’ she continued. ‘They never jammed it down our throat, you know, come and work with us in this capacity, but if we were curious and if we were interested, they would always want us around.

‘I would spend my weekend on construction sites just trialing behind. And you learn a lot by that.’
