Machine Gun Kelly has a message for an unnamed lover in his new song “Cliché.”
The new track was released by the musician (real name Colson Baker) on Friday, May 23. Even without directly mentioning anyone in the song, the record contains some deeply heartfelt lyrics.
“Tell me, would you stay with me?” MGK, 35, sings in the track’s chorus. “Baby, we could make this home.”
The lyrics continue: “You should run away with me / Even if you’re better off alone.”
MGK’s new music comes five months after he and ex Megan Fox called it quits and two months after the former couple welcomed a baby daughter together.
Fox, 39, and the musician first crossed paths in 2020 while working on the set of Midnight in the Switchgrass. Their relationship had its fair share of ups and downs before they quietly went their separate ways in November 2024, around the time Fox was expecting.
Following their split in November 2024, news of their separation emerged in December of the same year. A source revealed exclusively to Us Weekly that while this was not their first breakup, this time the decision to part ways seemed final.
“Their relationship is so full of passion and that leads them to get back together over and over, but also to fight in the most toxic of ways,” the insider told Us. “Their fights have gotten less intense now that MGK is sober, but they still have such a hard time having a stable relationship with each other.”
MGK shared the news in March that he and Fox had welcomed their daughter, announcing via Instagram, “She’s finally here!!”
In the caption of the Instagram post, he referred to their daughter as “Our little celestial seed.” Following confusion from fans MGK was later forced to clarify that they did not name their daughter “celestial seed.”
Despite sharing a child together, Fox and MGK are “absolutely not getting back together at this point in time,” a source told Us Weekly exclusively earlier this month.
Fox announced her pregnancy in November 2024 after opening up about suffering a past miscarriage. “Nothing is ever really lost,” she captioned an Instagram post at the time. “Welcome back 👼🏼❤️.”
In the first photo, Fox cradled her baby bump and tagged MGK on her stomach. A second picture showed her positive pregnancy test.
Fox also shares sons Noah, 12, Bodhi, 11, and Journey, 8, with ex Brian Austin Green. Meanwhile, MGK is also a father to daughter Casie, 15, whom he shares with his ex, Emma Cannon.
