Princess Gabriella of Monaco matches her mother Charlene in tan coat and shades (while brother Jacques, 9, twins with dad Albert)

Princess Gabriella twinned with her mother, Princess Charlene of Monaco, as they stepped out in coordinated winter looks earlier today.

The young royal’s twin brother, nine-year-old Jacques, chose to coordinate his outfit with his father, Prince Albert II, during a rare public appearance with the family on Wednesday.

Accompanied by his wife and two children, the 66-year-old monarch participated in the inauguration of Mareterra, a $2 billion luxury ‘eco-district’ developed on reclaimed land from the Mediterranean Sea.

Charlene, 46. and Gabriella both wore matching tan coats over their outfits in a striking image of the mother-daughter duo.

The mother-of-two looked chic in her monochrome ensemble, complete with a pair of dark brown kitten heels.

Her mini-me, however, opted for a black dress and finished her winter outfit with a pair of tights and black ballet flats.

Meanwhile, Jacques opted for a similar style as his father, Albert, who wore navy trousers, a light blue shirt, and a tie in matching shades.

The heir to Monaco’s throne followed suit, wearing an exact replica of his father’s outfit.

The royals stepped out together to inaugurate the Mareterra distirct – 11 years after the prestige project was first announced.

According to CNN, the luxe condominumum built on top of the sea comprises more than 100 apartments and 10 palatial villas – as well as a marina and a seaside promenade.

Influential architects such as Norman Foster and Tadao Ando were reportedly recruited to create structures in Mareterra – with Renzo Piano (best known for designed the Centre Pompidou) even agreed to lend his name to the residential development designed by his firm.

While housing prices have not been made public, real estate group Knight Frank reportedly estimated that properties in Mareterra will cost around £82,842.50 (€100,000) per square metre – almost twice of Monaco’s average.

Ahead of the inauguration, Prince Albert told Hello Monaco: ‘I wanted this new area to embody the excellence and conviviality which distinguish the Principality of Monaco so well.

‘Mareterra will integrate perfectly with our shoreline, and will be seen as a natural extension of our territory.’

It appeared some structures in Mareterra are dedicated to members of the royal family – including a 65 foot-by-54 foot saltwater swimming pool dedicated to one-time champion swimmer Princess Charlene.

The royal family’s most recent public engagement comes one day after Princess Charlene and Prince Albert released their family Christmas card.

Dressed in winter jumpers and huddled together next to a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, the smiling Monegasque royals, together with their nine-year-old twins, Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques, appear relaxed and happy in the image.

Princess Charlene looked typically elegant in a pair of straight-leg, brown trousers and a chunky turtleneck knit in a complementary shade.

The former Olympic swimmer teamed her outfit with high-heeled, pointed toe brown leather boots.

With her blonde hair in a relaxed up-do and natural make-up, Charlene, who is usually seen in glamorous ensembles by high-end designers, showed a more casual and homely side of herself in the new photo.

Prince Albert, who, at 66 is 20 years Charlene’s senior, looked similarly snug in a cream cable knit jumper – and the couple’s twins were also dressed in coordinating outfits.

Gabriella wore a white outfit of trousers and a knit, along with a pair of metallic ballet shoes, while grinning Jacques looked cute in black trousers and an oatmeal coloured jumper paired with brown suede shoes.

Sat in front of a stone fireplace adorned with festive greenery and lit candles in one of the living rooms of the Princier Palace, the family look picture perfect in the image taken by Eric Mathon, the royals’ official photographer.

The picture, which was posted to the official Instagram account of Monaco’s royal family, was captioned: ‘The Princier Palace is pleased to share with you the photo of the greeting card of the Princier family.’
