Reflecting on the Influence of Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” through the Eyes of Her Star Dancer

In March 2023, the Eras Tour by Taylor Swift commenced in Arizona and concluded with its 149th and last show in Vancouver on December 8.

After the tour wrapped up, several members of Taylor Swift’s team, including band members, backup vocalists, and dancers, expressed deep sentiments about its end. Amos Heller, the longtime bassist, confessed to feeling like he has undergone a transformation, while dancer Kameron Saunders shared that he has been continuously overwhelmed with emotions since the final performance.

Following its end, one of Taylor Swift’s cherished dancers is opening up about how the Eras Tour transformed his life.

Meanwhile, on December 12, Jan Ravnik, a dancer from Taylor Swift’s team who gained a substantial fan base during the Eras Tour, went on Instagram to convey that he is still processing the groundbreaking conclusion of the tour, only four days after its culmination in Canada.

“I still can’t find the words to fully describe what I’m feeling. It’s like there’s this weight in my chest, a mix of gratitude, love and sadness, because saying ‘thank you’ just doesn’t seem enough,” the Slovenian performer wrote in a post. “I never imagined I’d be performing in front of sold out stadiums across the globe.”

He continued, “Night after night, I got to share the stage with the most dedicated, creative, and passionate people. From my fellow dancers who inspired me to be better every day, to the band and bgv [background vocalists], the crew, and everyone behind the scenes who made the magic happen.”

Swift’s production company confirmed to The New York Times that the Eras Tour drew an astonishing 10,168,008 attendees and generated $2,077,618,725 in ticket sales, officially making it the highest-grossing tour of all time.

Ravnik expressed his gratitude to Swift’s choreographer Mandy Moore before turning his appreciation to Swift herself. He thanked her “for setting a bar so high it made every one of us rise to the challenge” and “for changing my life.”

“We’ve created memories, we’ve shared laughs and tears along the way,” he added. “I am not same person I was 2 years ago and I can easily say these were the best years of my life.”

In a cheeky postscript, Ravnik shared the keepsake he held onto from the Eras Tour: the purple ladder he famously used during his standout routine to Swift’s Midnights hit, “Lavender Haze.”

“I’d like to announce that the ladder and I have mutually decided to part ways professionally. However, we remain on good terms,” he revealed. “It’s currently in a quiet retirement community (a.k.a. my living room), helping me paint walls and hang shelves. We ask for privacy and understanding during this heartfelt transition.”

Following the conclusion, PEOPLE confirmed that Swift distributed $197 million in bonuses to everyone involved in her Eras Tour over the past two years. The generous gesture included truck drivers, caterers, instrument technicians, merchandise teams, lighting and sound crews, production staff, assistants, carpenters, dancers, band members, security personnel, choreographers, pyrotechnics teams, riggers, hair and makeup artists, wardrobe teams, physical therapists, and video crew.

Kameron Saunders is taking the end of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour especially hard.

“I have not stopped crying since Sunday,” Saunders wrote on social media. “And because of that simple fact, I’m not quite ready with the proper words to encapsulate this entire experience and the past 2 years of my life.”

“… BUT what I can and am ready to do is say thank you to my Boss Lady!,” he added of the pop icon. “Taylor! My girl! you have steered the HELL out of this ship. So gracefully!!”

Kam continued, “With poise, confidence, heart, passion, kindness, utter bravery and love!!! Every SECOND of this with you I felt seen, honored, celebrated, valued, respected… Babe, I would follow you anywhere at any time in any universe in EVERY lifetime. It has been the honor of my life to have been at your side night after night!”

Following the conclusion, the “22” singer took to X, the social media platfform formely known as Twitter, to thank her fans and everyone involved in the Eras Tour.

“I want to thank every single one of you for being a part of the most thrilling chapter of my entire life to date — my beloved Eras Tour,” she said in a video.
