From filmmakers to artists, Hollywood lost several stars in 2025.
A shocking development came to light on January 4 when it was revealed that Aubrey Plaza‘s spouse, Jeff Baena, passed away at the age of 47 the day before. According to reports from the medical examiner as seen by Us Weekly, Baena’s death was determined to be a result of suicide.
On January 6, Plaza’s spokesperson expressed, “This is an incredibly tragic situation,” in a statement to Us on behalf of the actress and her family. The spokesperson also mentioned, “We deeply appreciate the outpouring of support. We kindly ask for respect for our privacy during this difficult period.”
Days after Baena’s death, manager Simon Jones shared that RuPaul’s Drag Race star James Lee Williams — better known as The Vivienne — died at age 32.
The representative further conveyed in an Instagram post on January 5, “James was a much-loved, kind, and exceptional individual. Their family is devastated by the loss of their child, sibling, and relative. They take immense pride in James’s remarkable accomplishments in life and career. No additional information will be disclosed. We urge that James’s family be granted the necessary time and space to cope and mourn.”
The next day, authorities confirmed that the beloved drag queen’s death had “no suspicious circumstances.”
